Don't Stop cover in Seat Toledo ad

I was watching live TV last night and wasn't able to fast forward through the ads like I would normally do. This meant I got to see the new Seat Toldeo ad featuring a part cover of Don't Stop by Hannah Clark AKA FOE. You can watch the ad at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thw4KYuElfU. According to the comments from Seat, she only recorded the part of the song used for the ad. It is one of the better covers I've heard.

Heard / saw this tonight. It's so different from the original but it's not bad!

Scots singer Nina Nesbitt follows Ellie Goulding and Gabrielle Aplin in £5m John Lewis TV advertising campaign

17 Aug 2013 10:51 The Daily Record by Beverly Lyons

The Edinburgh singer's cover of Fleetwood Mac song 'Don't Stop' is the soundtrack of an ad campaign for the retailer's home insurance arm.

NINA Nesbitt admits she had to pinch herself after being made the new voice of the John Lewis adverts.

The Edinburgh singer is following in the footsteps of Ellie Goulding and Gabrielle Aplin after securing the role of featured artist on the latest £5million publicity campaign for the retail giants.

Speaking from Belgium, where she is playing the Pukkelpop Festival, Stay Out singer Nina, 19, said: “I’m really excited. It’s all come about quickly so it’s not really sunk in and won’t until I've seen it on TV. I only found out I got the job last week.”

Nina covered Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop for the promo for the retail giants’ home insurance arm. The song runs over the story of a family and the contents of their house.

It’s also the 35th anniversary year for the band’s album Rumours. She said: “I’m a big fan of John Lewis adverts even though I don’t watch much TV. I always look out for them and I heard they were looking for someone to sing this year.

“They suggested Fleetwood Mac and I love them so I thought I’d give it a go. I recorded it that night and they told me last week they wanted to use my version.”

[Excerpt from piece on Nina Nesbitt]

Scottish pop star Nina Nesbitt will make her debut in front of the Scotland supporters on Friday when she performs the national anthem, Flower of Scotland.

The 19-year-old, whose singles Stay Out and Way In The World have made her a staple of radio station playlists across the UK, was also thrilled to be asked to soundtrack the latest John Lewis TV advert, with her brand new take on the Fleetwood Mac classic, Don’t Stop.

Nina admits she can't wait to perform in front of a full house at Scotland's national stadium.

Nina said: "I'm just so pleased to have been invited to sing Flower of Scotland at Hampden. It's a huge honour for any Scottish singer and something I never dreamed I'd have the chance to do.

"It'll be by far the biggest live audience I'll have sung to, so I hope I can lead them in a proper sing-along. I can’t wait to hear the legendary Hampden Roar - come on Scotland!"

Don't Stop is now available as a single on iTunes and Nina admits she has fulfilled a long-held ambition by record a version of the classic track.

“I have always loved Fleetwood Mac and am really glad that John Lewis liked my version of Don’t Stop.”

Do you ever get the feeling certain popstars see life through Instagrammed eyes at all times? Like - we can totally imagine Taylor Swift would think a McDonald's drive-thru in S****horpe was, like, well glamorous and totally rad just 'cause she looks at everything with a Sierra filter shoved over her peepers.

Well d'ya know what? Nina Nesbitt off of wearing incredible clothes and singing very good songs is another one of those types - 'cause her new vid for Don't Stop is basically our entire Insta feed in 2 minutes and 52 seconds.

Yup - if you've been anywhere near a tellybox over the past few weeks you'll probably have seen their new ad with Nina's vocal chops chucked over the top of it. And now Nina's made her very own vid for the quirky little Fleetwood Mac cover.

It basically features an actual real life tortoise, a guy showering in blue paint (practical) and lots of amazing hair and clothes. Check it out below if you fancy. Oh, and grab an ice pop while you're at it - it's well summery.

Love it.

What d'ya reckon, then? Loving the vid? Comments, please and a-thank you.
