I was at the Nashville and Louisville shows.

Nashville was a night I'll never forget. I was 4th row, but made my way to the front row, pushing the dozen roses I bought Christine to just an inch away from her toes.

because i've never seen Lindsey so tense as at BuckVie shows, and i have a pretty good frame of reference - all together i've seen him at over 50 solo, Mac and Buckvie shows. at BuckVie, he shouldered it all and made sure she sounds good and is comfortable, and that show gels well. he did get more relaxed as the tour went on. no wonder he cried at the end of their last show of the tour.

Its funny you say that. I never noticed anything for Buck/Vie but did so on his last solo tour. I was front row and Lindsey played as if he was a new comer trying to make it in the business. I would not call it nervous but just so into going way overboard performing and really feeding off the audience. Like I said, you would have thought it was his first big gig or something. Gave it all to almost exhaustion.

you are talking about re-invigorated playing, like new beginnings. and yeah he definitely had that going in 2018. Lindsey never coasted or phoned-in live shows, but yes, he did play in 2018 like he still has something to prove, and we all benefited from it. :thumbsup:

that has nothing to do with him being tense or worried how it will all turn out - like he was during BuckVie shows.

just curious, did you see any of his previous solo tours?

the only solo tour i saw where he had a small tiny fraction of that tenseness he had on BuckVie tour was at the first few One Man shows, where he seemed unsure how will it all turn out. once when first few shows were out of the way though, he was completely relaxed on that tour, as he usually is.

i've seen the first, many in the middle, and the last show of Solo Anthology tour in 2018. he looked relaxed from the first show to the last. :nod:

I can only speak from my two experiences on the Buckingham McVie tour.

Early on I saw them in Detroit on 4th of July weekend. The venue was a beautiful theatre so the crowd was pretty tame and in their seats for the majority of the first half of the show. It had a much more buttoned-up feel to it because of the crowd and setting. You can hear it in the recordings/videos there are times where they are speaking between songs and you can hear a pin drop.

Then I saw them months later at a casino outside of Cleveland. That was a very relaxed show with, Lindsey really egged Christine on to tell the whole story of how she got back into the band. The crowd was much looser and it felt more like what you'd expect a rock concert to feel like. By far my favorite show of the two I saw.

Honestly, as happy as I was about the Buckingham McVie project coming to fruition instead of being shelved for eternity, I knew it meant world war 3 was just declared. There would be immense payback, it was just a matter of when and how. I distinctly remember the odd feeling while reading the press release for the project of having a sense of pure excitement while absolutely cringing for what this meant for the rest of the band, more specifically Lindsey and Stevie. Anyone who had been following the events of this band for the prior 5 years or so would be able to guess that this wasn't going to go down well.

It's OK for the members of the band minus Stevie to start on a project, woo her to be part of it...but the unspoken rule was that none of it would be released unless she chose to participate. In her eyes, I think she saw it as an ultimate betrayal that 4/5ths of the band released something without her, even though it was her choice. NOT calling it a Fleetwood Mac record wasn't enough.

The whole scenario is a prime example of the dynamic shift that occurred with the return of Christine. Before her return, Stevie had a ton of leverage to axe projects. Suddenly with Lindsey having an ally in the band (Christine) Stevie could now be somewhat outnumbered in her axiom of power. Really, the return of Christine was a threat to her in a lot of ways. She even passively-aggressively bemoaned having to do ANOTHER fleetwood mac tour right after the 2013 tour wrapped up.

And all of this really made the narrative of Lindsey holding up the band from moving forward absolutely hysterical. However, casual fans or folks who didn't know better took the bait without a problem.

Wow!! I agree with all of this. Only to say that I did not see the Lindsey firing happening. In my wildest dreams I didn't know $$$he had that much power. Being popular vs talented is everything in today's music world. Another learning moment for me. :eek:
