"Rattlesnake Shake" on new Aerosmith CD

Reading some CD reviews in yesterday's newspaper, I saw that the new Aerosmith live CD Rockin' The Joint (being released tomorrow) includes a cover of "Rattlesnake Shake" recorded in 2002. They had covered "Stop Messin' 'Round" on a CD last year. I've heard that "Rattlesnake Shake" was often part of their set in their early days - didn't they release an earlier live version of it sometime ago as well?

While I'm not a big Aerosmith fan, I think it's great that they've included two Peter Green songs on their recent releases - hopefully that will lead more people to discover Fleetwood Mac's early albums.

It was on some early bootlegs (from around the Draw The Line or Toys In The Attic era) and then finally OFFICIALLY released on their Pandora's Box box set. Their version clocks in at just under 11 minutes.

Thanks for the info, chiliD! Is that 11-minute version similar to the extended live jams Fleetwood Mac did in late '69 & early '70 (Boston Tea Party, etc.)?

They don't really kick FULL into any "Madge"-like grooves...keep it much closer to FMac's studio arrangement...but extended...and, they play it MUCH slower than FMac...bordering on a heroin-induced dirge.

I love Toys in the attic but for some reason this description of their version does not sound attractive to me. Is it good in your opinion, ChiliD?
