Heart of Stone

One of FM's best songs ever, like in the Top 5, what do you guys think?

Along with Loves Shines, this song would have given a much-needed boost to Behind the Mask by replacing any two of its clunkers.

A fantastic sounding song with great vocals that the world acts like it doesn't exist.

It's a very nice song but not as good as it's 'sister' song Love Shines.
Not really very close to top-5 in my opinion.

It's one of Christine's best songs. It probably would have been a top 10 hit had it been written and recorded in the 1980s.

was it a Patrick Leonard production? I think the band would be well-served by an outside producer... HoS was great! love how Stevie's harmonies are a TAD behind the chorus... it's really good!

I love Heart Of Stone but it's hard to listen to sometimes when my ears focus on the sound of whomever's hands sliding on the guitar.

That's the only thing I hate about it, who would be doing that, Rick or Billy? My guess is Billy

Because the song lives only in the less accessible box set, some in the world don't even know it exists.

Stevie's backing vocals ARE killer, slightly behind the melody.. which is the big trend in pop now

jbrownsjr 06-24-2015 08:51 AM

Love this song. It's very good. Stevie has great vocals on it.

Stevie's vocals are quite unique. It was the closest sound we got to hearing the fab five sound since Lindsey's departure from the band.

It was produced very well also. Christine singing at her best.

This one fit's in really nicely with a Christine playlists that includes Friend, Save Me, I Do and As Long As You Follow.

Wow, that's a nice combo.. I am inspired to make a playlist with similar songs.
