Wasn't one of those guys found to be having an affair with Mick Fleetwood's wife at the time, and told to leave? My recollection recalls that part of the story also from the time the Fake Mac had a couple tour dates before being discovered they were a sham...

The December '74 Record Plant performance seems to 100% confirm the chronology of Bobby Hunt and Doug Graves.
At the end of the simulcast the announcer reads Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Bob Welch and Bobby Hunt.
The September Record Plant performance featured Doug Graves.
Thus, DG worked on Heroes Are Hard To Find and joined the band on tour. At some point he left the tour and was replaced by Bobby Keys. Bob W must have given his old mate a call to help them out by filling in.
I wonder why DG was given the boot.

I'm several years late, but I found this quote from Christine McVie's interview with Contemporary Keyboard.

During one earlier tour, Fleetwood Mac did carry an additional keyboardist, Doug Graves, but that idea was soon abandoned. "He was there to back me up," McVie says, "but I think it was decided after the first two or three concerts that I was better off without him. The band wanted me to expand my role and have a little more freedom, so he played some organ behind me, but he didn't play the same way I did. I may not play very well, but I play it the way it suits the band."

Thanks for this. I actually started this thread, years ago. It's all potentially ambiguous, isn't it? What does "carry" mean in the context of Christine's quote? It's only of an academic, nerdy insterest but I kind of think that Doug was a member of Fleetwood Mac, however briefly. Others will disagree.

A side man isn't a member, any more than a guitar tech is.
