Concert cash grabs

so.....

we are all familiar with the VIP experience deals that offer a great seat ,tote bag, lanyard and/or assorted other 'goodies' all at grossly inflated prices ...but this often seems to be the only way to get a good seat

even after buying 'platinum seats' the latest grab caught me by surprise!

for the Prudential show I purchased what i thought to be great seats- center stage, second row, on the aisle ! Imagine my surprise at the venue when i discovered that - at the request of the promoter/artist- that for the first 5 floor rows the aisles had been eliminated and extra seats added ! The result was that it was virtually impossible to leave my 'aisle seats'-whether to visit the restroom or whatever- More importantly,in my opinion, this seemed to create an unsafe condition and what should have been a violation of the fire code !

all this to add another $ 20,000 or so to the vault by my calculations !

was this grab common at other venues during the recent tour ? was anyone else as put off by this as myself ?

I don't think this is a cash grab but more supply and demand. There were lots of VIP tickets available for shows weeks before the concert. They slashed the prices big time and removed the gimmicks of VIP status. Stevie was selling out these venues. I was shocked but she sold out Pittsburgh 14,500 seats. With that kind of demand, of course they are going to add seats. No one is forcing anyone to buy those seats. I stay away from floor seats unless its in the first 3 rows. It can be miserable down there.
It may have been cramped but completely in with the fire code.
If it was not for the Fleetwood Mac shows coming up, I would have imagined Stevie would have continued this tour. The longer the show went on, the more venues sold out.
