Favorite News Anchor

Who do you enjoy watching on the news?

My personal favorite: Dan Abrams on MSNBC.

Why?

He likes to get straight to the point and calls people out if they avoid his questions. Plus, I don't think he can necessarily be "pigeon-holed" into a particular camp with his views.

Examples:

Plus, he's a hottie! :D

Connie Colla. Former NBC10 Philadelphia news anchor, now CN8. I got to work with her at CN8 and she's just a really great woman.

I like Peter Jennings a lot, but I *love* Chris Matthews on Hardball. He cracks me up.

Jon Stewart - even though it isn't technically news.

Anderson Cooper-because I think he's cute and Wolf Blitzer (sp?)-because I also find him sexy in an old man type way lol....

for someone who's in the news industry I actually watch VERY little television news.....haha...so my picks are for pretty dumb reasons :D

Anderson Cooper.

I don't get cable, so I'm limited.

I know I don't care for Jennings.

There's a guy on CBS, not Rather, whom I like. I'm not sure I'd know his name.

Hey, Marissa, do you watch Jim Gardner & Lisa Thomas Laury? I loved her when I lived back east.

Oh yeah, I haven't seen her anchor in an age, of course, but I love Linda Ellerbee. She was the guest narrator for one night in Austin for The Vagina Monologues, and that made the play for me.

BTW, Sparky, on the few occasions when I've seen Jon Stewart's show, I've liked it.

Hey, do Emily Litella and Gilda Radner count as anchors?:)

Yes I do! Action News is pretty much the only local news I will watch (after Connie Colla and then John Bolaris's departure from NBC 10, it went down hill BIG TIME and I can't stand to watch).

I don't think I know Connie and John, but I've never found local news anchors to match Philadelphia's.
I'll have to PM you my Jim Gardner and Chris Wagner stories in the next few days.

Connie rolled into town from Phoenix in 1996. John (the meteorologist) came from Z100 in NYC and I believe he also did the weather for one of the news stations up there as well. He was the resident playboy of Philly and dated Jane Robelot years ago before moving onto designer Nicole Miller and then finally onto Lauren Heart (daughter of the former Flyers owner/manager, I believe). Yes, do tell your stories....you know that was my major and I've worked with some of these people
