"Rooms Of Fire" Vocal Tracks Only
No falsetto (further to my other thread), but her singing here is amazing (and isolated with no instruments). It's great hearing her harmonize with herself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K6L6xvEN1Y

I can hear her sinuses clicking though.

I remember the first time I heard this. It was kinda gross. What kind of stupid do you habe to be to snort Salicylic Acid tabs into your brain case? She must regret it every day. |

:) To this date its the only Stevie solo album I never bought on CD. I usually had the album or tape and years later bought the CD. I never bought RAL on CD but I bought the album in Nov 1985. In 2004 I was in a Thrift Store and they had cassette tapes for $1. RAL was in the bunch, it crossed my mind to buy it because I threw the album away in the mid 90's. However, common sense kicked in and I would not buy RAL for even ONE DOLLAR. |

This is awesome. I love her vocals on this song, and it's neat being able to hear her vocals isolated from the music track. Classic song. I've always loved the music video for it as well.

As for Rock a Little, everybody's Stevie poison is different. I like the title track, Imperial Hotel, Strangers, Nightmare, and Written. Unlike the Rupert Hine fiasco, at least her voice is mixed up front on Rock a Little so that she doesn't sound more like a backing vocalist than a lead vocalist. What would possess any producer anywhere to mix Stevie on a Stevie album as a backup vocalist?! What kind of stupid is this? I think she was sharing her tranquilizers with the producer during those sessions. |
I wish I was on the old Listservs back then, I'm curious what all the buzz was about OSOTM when it was released. It's like a pink sparkly rubber mallet giving me dull thuds on the head over and over, ending with Stevie singing Johnny Cash to a reggae beat. #no
