Would absolutely love them to do Glastonbury. Next year would be ideal on the back of a tour and album. I'm not really sure it'll happen though. I don't think the band really quite understand the potential long term money to be made from the prominence of a Glastonbury headline appearance. I think they'd prefer a quick crash grab at another paid-up concert.

Though eFestivals is a really good site I'm not sure they are that accurate. They had Depeche Mode 'to be confirmed' at this stage last year and that came to nothing. Michael Eavis said he had the 2014 headliners booked last year but by all accounts none of them came to fruition.

(of 2015) Eavis said: "We've got three headliners already – and that's without Prince. We've got some good headliners. We had an agent [for a band] yesterday on the platform by the stage watching Metallica with me, saying, 'My band want to do it next year'. I can't tell you who it was but that was done on the platform watching Metallica. It it a British artist? He's definitely British, but the band are not British any more."

Now, although that sounds like it could well be a reference to FM there are plenty of people who think he's referring to AC/DC.

From what Christine said, it sounds as though if they'll have FM then they'll do it. Look how well it has done for Dolly Parton's catalogue. She's been within the top 5 for a month and country isn't a big thing in the UK.

I know someone who did Mick's Meet & Greet last year and my friend asked him if FM would do Glastonbury and Mick told him Glasto couldn't afford them. Mick could ofcourse be lying but after I heard that I stopped believing they'd do Glastonbury.

I really hope they do this. It would be massive. There's a lot of people out there that have the wrong impression of Fleetwood Mac. I honestly feel they could blow people away- the potential to be one the most legendary Glastonbury headline slots ever. I think they could even get 4 albums into the top 20 on the back of it (Rumours, Very Best of, Greatest Hits, new album) and the potential for a return to number 1.

A mini blues set half way through featuring Peter and Jeremy (with Lindsey) would top it off.

...but I'm not sure I can see Fleetwood Mac doing it.

Well they never reveal things ahead of the ticket sales. From what I remember the discussion at the time was Michael Eavis was probably refering to any three from Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, Prince and The Eagles.

In the end they had Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian. I dont think any of these were true first choice headliners.

I have a feeling Fleetwood Mac were never likely to perform though with or without John's cancer (even though most bookmakers suspended betting on Fleetwood Mac at one stage).

In terms of the main UK single and album chart country music has never been very popular in the UK. The majority of the big country music stars in the US have either never charted in the UK or have only charted a few albums in their entire careers. Come on Over by Shania Twain was big in the UK back in the late 1990s/early 2000s but only because many of the singles taken from it were remixed to give them a more pop sound. Dolly Parton can sell out big venues in the UK because she's a legend who has been in the business for decades, but her most successful albums have been compilation albums as opposed to studio albums which have mostly charted low or not at all. The record buying public in the UK just haven't taken to country music like the US and Australia have. If you were to go up to the average person on the street in the UK and ask them who Kenny Chesney is, they'd probably look at you in utter bewilderment, same goes for Reba McEntire.

Word is that FM will indeed be performing at Glasto 2015, most likely on the Friday.

Believe me it will be one of the biggest things they've ever done and give them a massive sales boost in the UK and beyond. If they have a new album to promote as we all hope, it will be the ideal promotion. I don't think they'll know what's hit them as the crowd is HUGE and very vocal - I can see it having a similar effect as The Dance did in America and bringing in a lot of new young fans:thumbsup:
