Your ideal Mac setlist?
I was looking through the archives and saw a similar thread, so I thought I would make a new one for all the newer ledgies like me. Basically choose 22 songs that would make up your dream concert
Here's mine: The set up is this is their farewell tour, no more solo, it's the end of it all. (but that will never happen right? right?!?!?) The Chain Big Love (full band) Miranda Straight Back Go Insane Frozen Love Sara --acoustic break-- Twisted Gypsy Sorcerer (Buckingham Nicks style) Beautiful Child -- Fireflies (Christine joins now ) Outside The Rain (oh yes :]) Hold Me Think About Me Trouble Thrown Down Long Distance Winner The Ledge --encore-- Tango In The Night Sisters Of The Moon Never Forget |

And he dedicates the song to me..hehe 3. Crystal 4. Say Goodbye |
I actually couldn't cut mine down anymore (especially if this was the last time we'd ever see them!!!) I know there's quite a big part in the middle which is very Stevie orientated and realistically her voice couldn't cope with it i think but sure we can all dream ...

Stevie singing "Say You Love Me" nearly made me break down at the concert! Not that Stevie wasn't anything less than wonderful - it's just that I miss Christine... :(). Anyway...

This is my idea for the final mac shows. One in north america, one in europe. Christine joins the band again, as the iconic 5 members close the book on Fleetwood Mac.
The concert starts in absolute silence. A large video screen starts a 10 second countown much like in a silent, or home movie. The studio version of world turning plays as old video from the pre-rumours days plays. We are journying thru the history of fleetwood mac. Thunderous applause erupts when Christine, Stevie, and Lindsay, are shown joining the band. the clips begin to speed up, while the music gets louder. We move thru rumours, tusk, and mirage within 20 seconds. this montage continues with stevie solo, tango in the night, lindsay leaves the band, the shake the cage tour, the dance, say you will, and unleashed. The clips now at a blinding speed, and the music near-deafening, both cut off abruptly. A single spotlight shines down on the stage, illuminating buckingham. He screams out "looking out for looooove", and the band lauches into the full band version of Big Love, as the stage lights explode with dazzling light. Stevie and Lindsay do the infamous grunting, but in a way that makes it seem as if they are fighting. The song ends, and the concert continues. Big Love(full band) Say You Love Me(three part harmonies) Gold Dust Woman(with snippet of sisters of the moon) Not that Funny Gypsy Everywhere acoustic section: Crystal Never Going Back Again Second Hand news(Stevie Sings) Hold Me Landslide return to electric instruments Rhiannon Go Your Own Way You Make Lovin Fun Sara Monday Morning Don't Stop. Encore: The band leaves the stage while a deep ambient sound plays in the background. The sound of a heartbeat emerges from the distance. This encore showcases the talents of each member in an intense, energy filled sequence. The Chain:represents the band as a whole, and the ties that bind them. John's bass solo is extended, and the second half of the song is his show case. This segues into an elaborate percussion sequence, where each member is playing a percussive instrument, leading to... Tusk: obviously mick's showcase, and matches his manic personality perfectly. Im' so Afraid: Buckingham gets his catharsis out of the way. Little Lies:extended version, where Christine rocks out, and smashes her synth in the process. exclaims "i've got blisters on me fingers!" Edge of Seventeen:10 minute version ala soundstage, height of energy of the concert. At the end, the stage is engulfed in white confetti, while stevie lets loose a scream, followed by a "stand-back" kick. The band all gathers by their microphones, sing songbird acapella style, and wave a bittersweet farewell to fleetwood mac. |

can i tell you, that as i was reading this i was imagining it in my head and then i started to cry.....i would absolutely love for this to happen, but what an intense ending to Fleetwood Mac...ending..i can't believe i just said that. But the whole video montage, "BIG LOVE" thing...genius. |
The Chain
I Want You (from Go Insane, alarm clock included) That's Alright Hold Me Dreams (acoustic, with Stevie playing guitar) Cast Away Dreams Thrown Down Down Endless Street Outside the Rain Tango in the Night Big Love (album version) Sisters of the Moon Rhiannon Caroline Come Sweet Girl Frozen Love Angel Goodbye Angel Then Christine steps out one last time to sing Songbird. |

Anyway, the reason that the encore/showcase section is so intense, is because IF(a very big if) this was the final shows of FM, it would be Stevie, Lindsay, and Christine's last chance to express their emotions toward each other on stage. Their FINAL chance to have a "silver springs" moment. The theme of the setlist is uncovering this "emotion" as the band plays songs from various periods of their career. By the time they reach the encores, this emotion has been fully revealed, and the audience is face to face with the raw, unleashed fleetwood mac. This pain reaches apex with the "coming-of-age" of Edge of Seventeen. Like the songs protagonist, FM must leave behind the past, and enter a new, uncertain future. When the song ends, we are hit with the full impact of all of the pain the band has been through over the years. However, the band comes to terms with the pain, and finds calm solace in the future during the acapella songbird. No matter what happens in the future, they will always have the memories of the best times of FM, and their bonds of friendship, to help them overcome any obstacle the future presents. 'That is how Fm should end. NOt with nostalgia, or spectacle, but with comforting closure. |
(This is what I think the Unleashed tour would have looked like with Christine in the mix)
01 Monday Morning 02 The Chain 03 Dreams 04 Say You Love Me 05 I Know I'm Not Wrong 06 Gypsy 07 Oh Daddy 08 Rhiannon 09 Second Hand News 10 Little Lies 11 Tusk 12 Sara 13 Big Love [Acoustic] 14 Never Going Back Again [Acoustic] 15 Landslide [Acoustic] 16 Over My Head [Acoustic] 17 You Make Loving Fun 18 Gold Dust Woman 19 Think About Me (or Hold Me) 20 I'm So Afraid 21 Silver Springs 22 Go Your Own Way 23 World Turning 24 Don't Stop 25 Sisters Of The Moon 26 Songbird There a ton of other songs that I would LOVE to hear live, but I think that had Christine been with the band this setlist would be pretty realistic... |

I scolded her, and told her that she'd be eaten alive, on the FM boards, by misspelling his name! She was like, "I almost looked it up, before I messaged you!" |

I scold people for using LindsAy, so to avoid confusion I call him Liddy. Try shouting 'IT'S LIDDY' when FM comes on in HMV and not getting trange looks
