2008 Possible Tour Setlist Thread

I don't know about you guys, but when a possible tour is "looming" I'm always thinking of possible setlists. I have a feeling Fleetwood Mac may tour next year after Lindsey releases his next album. Afterall, the other night at Stevie's last solo show in AC she did say "See you next year!"

So wishful thinking? Maybe, but I would love to see the Mac again soon. I thought you could all share your possible wishlist setlists for the next Mac tour. Rule is, you can't go over 26 songs, and put them in the order you would like them to be in.

Here's mine:

Monday Morning
The Chain
Gypsy
Dreams
Eyes of the World
Silver Springs
Second Hand News
Angel
Gold Dust Woman
Murrow Turning Over in His Grave
Thrown Down
Rhiannon
Big Love
Trouble (acoustic – Lindsey solo)
Landslide
Never Goin Back Again (acoustic w/ Stevie)
Storms (acoustic – Lindsey, Mick and John)
I’m So Afraid
Stand Back
Tusk
World Turning
Go Your Own Way
Don’t Stop
Don’t Let Me Down Again
Say You Love Me (Lindsey and Stevie duet)
Crystal (Lindsey and Stevie duet)

that? is awesome.

Sarah 08-28-2007 04:23 PM

Okay. Here's what I think I'd like..

- The Chain - traditional crickets, bass drum thump, lights coming on, etc., straight into...
- Monday Morning - followed by hello, welcome, etc.
- Gold Dust Woman
- Eyes of the World
- Rhiannon - speed it up a bit, plz
- Second Hand News
- World Turning - with drum set solo and original talking drum, not the vest, and it'd be cool if they could somehow blend that into the opening beats of..
- Tusk!
- Go Your Own Way
- Silver Springs - yesssss, SS after GYOW, faith in cycles ftw
- Landslide - I'm a bit tired of it, tbh, but it's touching to hear the entire arena sing along
- Big Love - I don't mind if he does it solo... he likes the response it gets
- Trouble - acoustic, just 'cuz Stevie will get solo with Stand Back
- Red Rover
- Everybody Finds Out - !!!!!!!!!!!
- Stand Back
- Oh Well
- ANGEL - plz. my life isn't complete without seeing it live in person. :distress:
- I Know I'm Not Wrong
- Sara - (i hate it, but i will probably need a pee break and another beer by this point.)
- Save Me A Place
- Sisters of the Moon

*ENCORE*

- Don't Let Me Down Again
- Blue Letter
- Say Goodbye

I would probably list this out differently on any given day... but this sounds OK to me for now. I would like to see Lindsey solo again some more first, though. ;)

I would consider EFO, but after I realized that its Lindsey and not Stevie singing the chorus of Come, it lost its charm.

I forgot to mention, I want Big Love to be the album arrangement, not the acoustic arrangement.

Chrislit18 08-28-2007 08:32 PM

Right, I personally like the album better than the Dance...sorry

Thanks. You too Chris.

I agree. It really goes well with the crispness of Dreams too. Good setlist-partners like GYOW and SS.

Chrislit18 08-28-2007 09:20 PM

Thanks :D
I agree, I like the older Dreams arrangements better than say The Dance/SYW tour, but I always love GOYW Live [it was actually on VH1 classic not too long ago from SYW], and SS went down as soon as Chris left....thats why I desperately hope she comes back. She makes everything flow better IMO.

Oh and regards to the tour...Dance Lighting please. Not so crazy about the red tones of SYW, the dark blue tones work better for the bands aura....

I think Dreams generally has been better arranged on Stevie solo tours. I don't know why that is. I agree with that GYOW hasn't had a dull tour, although its a little bit so-so on the Tusk tour. Chris does make everything flow better. She's the mellow to Lindsey and Stevie's intensity. She's sorely missed.

I think the lighting should correspond with the song, so, Tango in the Night would be dark shades of blue and green, like the cover of the album . Silver Springs would be blue's and silver's. Etc.

Chrislit18 08-28-2007 09:29 PM

nah, silver springs should be blue green/silver...[blue green colors flashing... ]
and then when Stevies all 'NEVER GET AWAY!!!!!!' to Lindsey make the colors flash....fastly...

but the color based on the song....good idea

brilliant idea! lol Better yet, during Stevie's "Never get away" tirade, she can tazor Lindsey with her electrified tamborine!

Good suggestion on SAVE ME A PLACE, didn't think of that one. LOVED hearing Lindsey do it on his most recent solo tour..would be great with Stevie on harmonies I think.

TrueFaith77 08-29-2007 01:12 PM

Of course it's impossible to suggest a set list since we have no idea what new songs from the new album they will need to promote/premiere :D

 WHAT "new album"??

Unless, Lindsey turns this supposed "rockin' album" of leftover GOS tunes (that he mentioned ad nauseum while promoting UTS) into another Fleetwood Mac album, I don't forsee them touring to back an album (of NEW material, anyway)...unless they release yet another version of Rumours (such as a 30th anniversary box set, or something). But, haven't they ridden that dead horse for the past 30 years already?

I hope to hell he doesn't. Besides, Stevie was bitching a while back about the 4-some Mac "not working".

Rumours box set... no. Complete retrospective... would be nice. ;)

My sentiments exactly.

And, we don't need any more damned compilations...either finish up the remaster/reissue of the entire back catalogue (Then Play On to Heroes Are Hard To Find and Mirage to The Dance) or record a new album. Or, just call it a day, since the band doesn't seem to be the priority for either remaining songwriter.

I feel ya. I don't want a half ass album. Say You Will might be a good place to call it quits.

I want a displayable boxed set... something that would look really nice on the shelf. It'd be great if they were all remastered, but mainly, I just want it to look good as part of my collection. Also, I want a huge-ass high quality coffee table book. There are too many awesome photos of this band - from sets, candids, and live shots - to not have a nice collector's book.

stevierocks87 08-29-2007 05:19 PM

Monday Morning
Dreams
Oh Well
Eyes of the World
Thrown Down
Never Going Back Again
Rhiannon (how about "going for it" at the end for one last tour?)
Big Love (electric!)
Tango in the Night (this would be THE guitar song. No Morrow or So Afraid)
----Acoustic Set-----
Gypsy
Try for the Sun (Say Goodbye/Red Rove style, with Stevie doing slight backing vocals)
Landslide (if they MUST. I could definitely go without in favor of other songs).
----------------------
Frozen Love
Red Rover
Gold Dust Woman (Can take out if too similar to SOTM-would much rather here SOTM)
Sara
Miranda/Twist of Fate/Gift of Screws (I don't see them doing any more than 1 of these, and probably not the GOS tracks, but I think Lindsey would have a lot of fun singing them, and Stevie doing back-up on the chorus)
Angel
Tusk
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
----Encore 1-------
Sisters of the Moon
----Encore 2-------
The Chain
Blue Letter
Crystal (Lindsey does first verse, then Stevie)

Oh, dear, no. They need one last kick ass double CD of new material. Even if they don't tour to back it...drag Christine, Bob Welch, Peter Green & Jeremy Spencer into the sessions for cameo appearances. And, maybe a one-off concert (on Pay-Per-View, with a subsequently released DVD) with all participants involved. Let's take this carnival out in style.

that could happen. when hell freezes over.

that would be really, really awesome though. legendary, even. it'd be like the ultimate farewell to end-all farewells. every other band has some sort of goodbye (but then gets back together). as many different versions of FM as there have been, it'd be really awesome if they could just get back together and say, you know what, this really is it... we've had a great run.

cool. but not only that, david, I think it's a list that's coherent, well paced and would set them in a light that they neglected in their imageprofile during their existance. These are the songs that REALLY made me a fan. OK, I didn't include some of my fave songs, but I'd prefer this. All those great albumsongs are the real Mac.

Yis yis yis. I would lose all bladder control if I went to a show like this. The only thing I ask is that Not That Funny be replaced with Tango in the Night and That's Alright with either Thrown Down or Everybody Finds Out. Then I can die and go to heaven.

shackin'up 08-30-2007 01:29 PM

BTW, opening with I Don't Want To Know would bring people to tears, I'm sure. It's a surprise choice of a song EVERYBODY knows. Because everybody who sees a macshow knows rumours. It's a forgotten gem that will pull alot of emotion.

And I love that track.

Besides, it's the only Rumours track that has never been performed live by Fleetwood Mac. Only Buckingham and Nicks did it in their earlier shows.

I understand your choices, but as you see I deliberately stayed away from Tango and SYW, because I want to see a FMshow fronted by B/N -only with songs from the time they REALLY worked together.

AND I MUST SEE NOT THAT FUNNY LIVE!
