Stevie threw a chair at Chris during argument?

Billy Burnette apparently said it somewhere (recently?). maybe somebody here has his original quote, or knows more. Billy B. turned out to be a source of some credible info this year.

people seem to demand to know more. so since there are weird threads all over the place here, here's another one.

singertobe 10-24-2018 08:19 PM

That's something I never heard until today. Psychiatric drugs have a tendency to make people violent.

dreamsunwind 10-24-2018 08:24 PM

There's really no point in this thread, just like there's no point in the Lindsey thread. If she did she did. She had a lot of drug problems and mental issues as a result of them back then and probably did a bunch of things. It was a long time ago.

yeah it showed up in several other threads and people wanted a separate thread for it.

as does alcohol for at least some people, right? i don't know enough about psychiatric drugs and how they alter people's behavior, would be curious to learn more.

TheWildHeart67 10-24-2018 08:32 PM

Klonopin is a hell of a drug.

I saw and reported on Billy's post, it would have been in Instagram or Twitter. I am quite inept at retrieving anything online in these apps, but I will attempt!! Wish me luck. Only problem is that I don't know how to put it on here then, but I shall report back on when/where it was.

lovethemac1 10-24-2018 10:51 PM

Ok, so I found evidence of it on Twitter, but I think the original tweet has been deleted. I just put in the search box of Twitter "stevie chair chris"

October 12/18, it was commented to 7 people "Did you see the tweet from Billy Burnette about Stevie throwing a chair at Chris? I just retweeted it. I read it this morning and I kept thinking maybe that's why Chris left." 7:32 pm 12 Oct 18 (This is not my account, btw.)

It does appear Billy's original tweet has been deleted tho.

Just like when he posted on fb about Lindsey being fired, and being pissed that he wasn't asked to rejoin them.

Billy likes to rant, then delete.

HA HA That's me with politics on FB. I rant then realize half the people or more don't want to hear it, I calm down and delete.

FB snooze is my favorite feature. I snooze 80% of the people who post political stuff.

I like to enjoy life. Well, except for Old Goat Breath. Then it's game on!

I rarely do, but the times I do it, I delete pretty quickly. I really wish we could go back to just flip phones like Old Nasal One Note AKA Tambourine B/witch AKA Old Goat Breath.

secondhandchain 10-25-2018 12:45 AM

Oh I just got a text from Nasal One Note and she wanted to say she has more then a one note range. She posted this rebuttal version of Gypsy to prove it.

I agree. Pre Karen days would be great.

I've shared that video quite a few times. $tevie at her best! I love her hairstyle, too. Covers up all her plastic surgery....I mean, her staying out of the sun. $he probably rolls in mud, or whatever goats do... No, it's Karen that rolls in the mud... my bad.

HejiraNYC 10-25-2018 11:35 AM

...which, even if true, is nothing compared to the violence of a man towards a woman:

Quote:

"Throughout the book, Buckingham is depicted verbally and physically abusing Harris.

In one instance, she wrote, he "raised his arm and hit me hard enough to knock me off the staircase into the wall".

In another, he grabbed a fistful of her hair, got in a car and drove down a driveway, dragging her across the pavement.

Eventually, Harris claimed, a doctor told her she had to leave Buckingham for her own safety."

False equivalency much? :wavey:

bombaysaffires 10-25-2018 12:19 PM

I'm not sure the point is to say the actions themselves are equivalent; rather it reminds people that all the members of this band have behaved badly throughout their history, and have behaved badly towards each other. People like to pick and choose to suit their narrative. Like how people forget, when picking through Carol's book, when the band refused to cancel a show after Lindsey had had a seizure, and had a spinal tap and was in serious pain. One could cherry pick lots of examples.

AncientQueen 10-25-2018 12:24 PM

Like - a drunken John throwing an axe after Christine, barely missing her?
Alcohol and (legal and illegal) drug abuse do bring out the worst in people That's a fact.
Not one member of the band has been perfect (aside from the Perfect one, of course :)).

Aisling 10-25-2018 01:59 PM

I think this is the tweet that's being discussed, but it looks like it's from an older account Billy used to use:

"OKay, there was one time that Stevie a Chris were fighting (don't ask me why!) and Stvie picked up a chair and lobbed it at Chris!"

Here's the link:

https://twitter.com/RockaBilly4ever/...77510807330816

Interestingly a few tweets above that he says Stevie can hold a grudge.

There it is, THANK YOU!!!

Interesting about the grudge. Guess that was pretty clear with her antics.

g. fish 10-25-2018 04:19 PM

In Stevie's own words...

"I think I got up and ran across the room and tried to kill him. I ran and attacked him." Stevie Nicks, Behind the Music

No big deal. After all, it's Stevie Nicks. So it doesn't count.

Ooh, yes. All 5'1" and 98 pounds of her (at the time). So intimidating! By the way, this is also the incident where Lindsey chased her around the block, bent her over a car hood and tried to choke her to death. That'll teach her not to mess with Mister Manly Man.

Exactly. It's ridiculous. They'd be fine if she'd killed him.

g. fish 10-25-2018 04:49 PM

This type of violence is never okay. Doesn't matter whether it's a man or a woman. Case closed.

Again, false equivalency. Both are bad. But men assaulting women crosses so many lines; it is never acceptable. How would you feel if Lindsey grabbed your mother by the hair with one hand out the window whilst dragging her along the pavement with a car?

g. fish 10-25-2018 05:03 PM

Violence is violence. It's never acceptable. Case closed.

SteveMacD 10-25-2018 05:40 PM

Okay, but this would have been during the Klonopin years. How far could she have thrown it?

According to Ed it is, when it's a woman committing the violence. #edtoo

NotonRodeo 10-26-2018 09:41 AM

Q

Wow. Now where are all those people who keep on complaining about Lindsey's behaviour? Why aren't they defending Christine McVie? Why aren't the chiffon contingent yelling "abusive", "misogynist" ad nauseam at their Goat Queen? Is it now all right to fling chairs at people, as long as it's not the Goat who is the target? Is not Christine McVie a proper object of sympathy too? Or is it just the Goat Queen who matters in this band? And don't blame Klonopin, I've been taking Klonopin for far longer than Stevie did and I've never flung a chair at anybody. Her drug use and alleged Klonopin abuse are just excuses for her irrational, VIOLENT, narcissistic behaviour which is only now becoming obvious because the incidents keep piling up and can no longer be hushed away.

The chiffonhead hypocrisy is disgusting.

DownOnRodeo 10-26-2018 10:10 AM

the stiletto cuts quick, like a whip through the air

I might be the only one, but I've always assumed this lyric from Firelies was a reference to her hurling a high-heel shoe at Lindsey during a fight.

NotonRodeo 10-26-2018 10:36 AM

Now I wonder what could have sparked that argument. Maybe Christine McVie smirked at the Goat Queen. But no, women aren't abusive! Only Lindsey is!

The "victims" :p have their wagons in a circle, and they're not listening. Men are bad and mean!

David 10-26-2018 12:01 PM

I wonder if it was the Second Hand News chair during the Rumours tour.

I didn't say that, so stop it. Look, if you think man-on-man or woman-on-woman violence is equivalent to man-on-woman violence, then you're truly sick. Get help. :wavey:

Unless we are talking about self-defense, violence against another human is wrong. It ends there. There aren't varying degrees of acceptability - it is always wrong.

With respect to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie is on record as talking about how she went after Lindsey and attacked him. I don't care how short she is, how much she weighed at the time, what prescription drug was forcibly shoved down her throat by Dr. Meanie, it was wrong. Him doing whatever he did to her in that concert in 1980 was wrong. It's all wrong and why this ancient history even gets rehashed as any justification for what happened in 2018 to this band is beyond me.

You get help, Ed. Three different people have messaged me today, concerning YOU. They say you're a nice person in real life, and don't know why you're such an ASS on the Ledge. Seriously. Get some help, Ed.

So Stevie thwacking Christine with a chair is not a problem? It is not abuse or violence? What an utter lack of morals or sense

Admin! What has happened to my request to be delisted? It shames me to be in the same forum with such amoral people who can actually defend Stevie attacking Chris with a chair.

I don't know 3 people who remain on the Ledge so quit yer lying. Also, um, isn't calling me an "ASS" technically in violation of the code of conduct here? Moderator, please look into this.

And, seriously, for YOU to call me that? Seriously??!!
