We all knew this, but man is it sad to hear this confirmed.

Mick’s next interview should be awesome. Looking forward to the spin doctoring they are going to do now.

jkmaletic 10-08-2018 11:41 AM

Of COURSE it was all Stevie's doing. She kicked him out for no reason whatsoever. It's so crazy! I heard from Cordelia, the current "Supreme", that Stevie used one of her White Witch spells to get Mick, John and Chris to go along with it. So crafty, that Stevie is.

According to Elle, who was present at the meet and greet. He just started talking about it on his own. She had asked him if he was ok.

I love that he's not trying to cover anything up.

I was beyond sad, then angry for a bit. I'm gonna guess he's going to be happier in the long run. He's free of that toxic cesspool.

HomerMcvie 10-08-2018 11:59 AM

I've been preaching to y'all for 15 years...

Now the proof is in the pudding.

I'd hate to say I told you so, but. I TOLD YOU SO! :p

 Will you be seeing either FM or Lindsey this tour?

FM in San Diego.

I wouldn't put too much stock in this.

I agree with you on both points.
I was hoping something real from the meet and greet.
What question was asked and what did he say?
Why is this not in the Lindsey forum?

Hawkeye 10-08-2018 03:10 PM

I don’t think think this is in the wrong forum. It’s more discusssion into the what broke up the Rumours band. I find it incredibly annoying that anyone thinks this is earth shattering news or should bring on any “I Told You Sos” 90 percent of people here new this was primarily Stevie’s doing. We just don’t care  now if Lindsey has said at this meet and greet a specific into what made Stevie inititiate this, then we’d have some news.

But regardless of all that, i would think it’s ok in this forum.

I imagine some people won't want to accept the reality of this. Why? Because it's hard accepting faults in your idols. I should know, I worshiped at the foot of Nicks (and the Mac) for years. There will be definite cross blame for years to come in this fandom. "It was Stevie's doing, she ruined everything." "Lindsey deserved it for all the crap she had to put up with over the years." "He should have just accepted the bands terms." "Stevie should have just gotten on with the show and dealt with it or left if there was that big a problem."

If you ask me, I think both played a part. Clearly, I'm sure, Lindsey prefers his own material to that of someone else's (rightly so) and probably didn't want to litter the set with pre-75 stuff (stuff more than likely that would be replacing his songs and not Chris or Stevie's), and Stevie likely put her foot down about the bickering and his controlling nature which I'm sure exists in some fashion and probably gave the ultimatum that likely occurred ("I can't take it anymore, it's him or me"). As much as they elevate each other musically, they tear each other down emotionally.

Exactly. He played a role in his ouster too. You don’t get fired after 40 years for “nothing.” Even if fans (who were not there) disagree about what the “something” was, disagree with the band’s actions, or disagree about the statement the band released about “the something.”

lennonfan 10-08-2018 03:45 PM

I'm seeing reports Mac is a slow sell...lots of tix at many venues...

All they said was "He wouldn't tour". It was refuted yet people don't want to believe that.

KenshiMaster16 10-08-2018 03:58 PM

He clearly did something to piss them off for it to get to the point of firing. However, Stevie obviously pulled the final trigger instead of working it out or compromising.

Because it was not truly refuted by Lindsey or the band. Only third-party people and fans who use that video with fans. If he was fired with absolutely no reason I think he would have been more outspoken more quickly. I think something larger happened to bring it to this point. Which is why he was silent for so long and why the rest of them gave that lame reason, probably both for legal reasons. Who knows.

secondhandchain 10-08-2018 04:14 PM

This is so not in the wrong forum. this is about a member of the Rumors five that got fired. If you can post about the new band here you can certainly post about Lindsey As it pertains to the rumors five. This wasn’t about his solo work.

Ehh, I wouldn't worry too much about it. People who attended the first two shows said they had filled in nicely by showtime.

Incorrect
Its about a meet and greet at a Lindsey solo concert.
His career is POST Fleetwood Mac no matter how hard you try to hold on to the past.
This thread has 23 posts and still nothing specific WHAT Lindsey was asked and WHAT was his response. The entire thread started "It was all Stevie"

dreamsunwind 10-08-2018 04:41 PM

I think it's pretty obvious that he wanted to do his joint tour, they didn't want to let him and so Stevie took the opportunity and ran with it. I was convinced that's what happened when we first found out about this and with all the little things that have come out since then, it couldn't be clearer.

WRONG This thread is about why Lindsey was fired from the rumours five, get it now? I am not talking about his solo career I am talking about his career with Fleetwood Mac and why it no longer exists because of a certain tambourine witch.

You should have titled the thread "Why Lindsey was fired"
You titled it "Lindsey speaks at Meet and Greet" That is a solo tour meet and greet POST Fleetwood Mac.
But enough of that. Still no one has posted anything Lindsey was asked and what he said. This is just a rehash of emotions why Lindsey was fired.

So you're saying that we followers of Fleetwood Mac enjoy drama?

That's a tough cookie to swallow!

Of course that really wouldn't have worked either since there is no explanation of why. ;)

Could someone at the next Meet and Greet PLEASE ask Lindsey to consider putting Countdown on his set list?

That's the thing. No one's quoted him. There's no context. This is the same man who just a few years ago said he "doesn't remember" kicking Stevie on stage in New Zealand. Shady. Id have to hear him say it at this point. We'll see if he actually goes on Howard Stern. You know they've been blowing up his phone.

Someone posts that they firsthand talked to LB face to face (elle) and he said it was Stevie, and you b*tch the comment is in the wrong place, then say you won't believe anything until you hear LB say it.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

Should she compromise? It seems to me Stevie has done an swful lot of compromising over the last 40 years. LB not so much. There comes a point...

In a band setting, I think its only fair every body compromise to make things work and balance. If the scales are uneven, nobody really wins.

Actually, it was the first and only person he mentioned, as far as I could listen. We heard 'Stevie' and we all started looking at each other, because he was finally talking. Then we kept quiet just to hear the rest. How she didn't think about FM legacy.

Lots of denial around this thread.
