I have no idea, maybe because it doesn't appear to be about the guy who she wrote most of the other songs about?

This song has been stuck in my head for the last 2 days.:D

chiliD 09-11-2006 04:05 PM

Hmmmm...yeah, I wonder why it wasn't. I know of a couple of songs on the album it could replace.

Probably just a "time" issue...too many songs for one disc...not enough for two. She did the same thing with her 1984 album, too...there was one song left over..."Too Much Is Not Enough". (she played it live & it was the B-side to one of the singles)

Aisling 09-11-2006 04:15 PM

if you were to substitute one track on ITM for this one, which would it be? i pick 'bad journey', for no real reason other than it's the only song on the album that i never warmed up to.

shackin'up 09-11-2006 04:16 PM

to be honest....I think this sounds ten times better than 90 percent of the album.....what a nice swing and what a great vocal in the verses!

Thanks for posting!

NO!!!!! In fact, that's one of my faves on the album!

I was thinking more either "Liar" or "Sweet Revenge"...but, even those would be tough to replace.

:sorry: i could compromise with sweet revenge. . .but absolutely not liar. i adore liar.

i've listened to this song too many times already. i think i have an addiction.

GypsySongbird 09-11-2006 04:55 PM

oh my god i love it i love it!!! thankyou!!!

"dont you know that i'm a woman (or something)
and you are a sexy man..."

lol! i love it! :D

actually, maybe it was dans choice not to include it, lol!

GypsySongbird 09-11-2006 04:57 PM

- although the "one thing could lead to another, i think we should stay sister and brother..." bit confuses me a bit....sounds great though!

MacMan 09-11-2006 05:45 PM

This is great! Thanks very much.

"Too Much Is Not Enough" was not a B-side to any of her singles, at least that I know. She thought of re-recording it & releasing it as a B-side, but I don't think she ever did. She did play it on her tour though.

This promo CD is only 54 minutes long. That's not too long for 1 CD. I wouldn't want to lose any of the songs currently on ITM.

Me too. That's why I don't think she wrote it about the mystery guy who inspired the album.

dougl 09-11-2006 08:45 PM

Thank you, thank you Mary Anne! What a treat!

DrK 09-11-2006 10:15 PM

Ditto! It's great to hear something new. Again, thank you.:blob2:

jbrownsjr 09-12-2006 01:59 AM

nice guitar.... how did we find this?

face of glass 09-12-2006 05:32 AM

Good track, although I need to give this one more listens. Thank you Mary Anne! :)

This track is on an Australian promo CD. I won it on eBay!

KarmaContestant 09-12-2006 11:39 AM

Thanks for this track. I have yet to buy her In The Meantime album.

I saw a three-disc Chicken Shack release at my local indie music store last week...I considered picking it up, but then thought better of it since I had no clue what I was getting myselef into. I do really like Christine's contributions to Fleetwood Mac.... Would I like her Chicken Shack stuff?

I agree. Bad Journey's a keeper. In fact all of ITM is. My question is, why not include more than 12 tracks to begin with!

aleuzzi 09-12-2006 02:19 PM

By the way, the "new" song is great! Her voice sounds fantastic. And the tune itelf is lightly funky.

nodmod 09-12-2006 02:48 PM

Thanks Mary Anne

Anyone fancy transcibing the lyrics

Here you go:

Little darling, would you come out to play
Little darling, wouild you come out to stay with me awhile

The moon's full tonight
My senses shining bright
As if you didn't know
Well, somethings's going on here
Shall we make it clear
And let the situation grow

Well, one thing could lead to another
I believe we should stay sister and brother
Oh don't you know that I'm human
Oh, and you are a sexy man

Little darling, would you come out to play
Little darling, would you come out to stay with me awhile

It didn't take too long
It was already strong
Cause you've always made me smile
Ooh, like a moth to the flame
Well I must be insane
But, baby I like your style

One thing could lead to another
I believe we should stay sister and brother
Oh don't you know that I'm human

Well, one thing could lead to another
I believe we should stay sister and brother
Oh don't you know that I'm human
Oh, and you are a sexy man

Little darling, would you come out to play
Little darling, would you come out to stay with me awhile

Aisling 09-12-2006 03:28 PM

this is what i heard, feel free to correct if anyone's hearing otherwise!

uh uh ooooh or something like that (repeat several times, and this is actually my favourite part of the song!)

I have no idea if you'd like her Chicken Shack stuff. It's totally different from her Fleetwood Mac stuff. Chicken Shack was pretty basic blues. She didn't sing lead vocals on very many of their songs, but her blues piano is out of this world on their records. I know what 3 disc release you're referring to. I have it. It's the complete Blue Horizon Sessions. That's everything that Chicken Shack ever recorded on the Blue Horizon label. A little over half of those songs, she's on.

I'd recommend that you get In The Meantime first.

Thanks for the info. I'll pick it up this weekend. I have the Legendary Christine Perfect album on vinyl, and I don't have the means to play it right now. I can't believe that this hasn't seen a CD release, and I'd really like to hear it.

Or has it, and I just cannot find it?

My appreciation for Christine has doubled since she left Fleetwood Mac. Strange, yet true.

It was re-released on CD late last year. It's a Japanese re-issue...outstanding sound. It's a limited edition, so it's fairly expensive. It looks like it'll be out of print soon.

By the way, there is another solo album, released in 1984.

Thanks Mary Anne! Weird this turned up on an Australian promo though.
Makes you wonder what else is out there.

I picked up The Legendary Christine Perfect in Japan earlier this year, and that's definitely the best version out there.

Sharon, the Australian promo had the same running order as the U.K. promo that you had, except that it has this extra track. According to the eBay seller, the official Australian release did NOT have this extra track.

trackaghost 09-12-2006 06:52 PM

That's very strange. My one definitely doesn't have that track on it.
I wonder if they were planning it as an Australian exclusive, but it didn't happen for some reason?
I'm quite curious to see the Japanese version of ITM now too, as those often have bonus tracks that aren't available anywhere else in the world.

gldstwmn 09-12-2006 08:06 PM

Thanks Mary Anne. I really like this song.

My copy came from The Netherlands. The running order is way off of what we know, Come Out And Play is included, and a few of the songs have alternate titles. Did yours come with artwork? I was JUST getting ready to post this new CD today when I saw I was beaten to it!

A Japanese version was on eBay recently, there were no extra tracks and it had the same running order, however of course there maybe a promo copy doing the rounds that is different that we have not seen yet

Thanks for the lyrics

My copy has the same album cover as the one we know. There is an alternate title for "Easy Come, Easy Go". That song is listed on the insert as "That's The Way It Is". This new track is #3 out of 13 tracks on the track list.

If there are any more tracks out there, chances are they'll be on promo copies. I'll keep my eye out for those. I know she recorded quite alot of extra songs & outtakes because she talked about it on those video clips on her site. They're on her nephew's computer.

I'll pull mine out again. I believe I had two alternate titles. My cover was a picture of Christine in front of a brick wall, I beleive there was a door as well. It was in color. Like I said, I had one this months ago, back in November I believe. I popped it into Winamp, and bam, FreeDB brought up the titles, so it's been out there a while.
