security shoving hot young girls in front of Lindsey?
this is from the report by MadnessFades, from Dublin yesterday:

seems weird. so fans like Madness can come and stand in line really early for GA entrance but don't get to stand at the stage? someone else noticed this? (sounds kinda like something that would be done for some metal band with groupies or something ) if it's happening, whose idea is it? Lindsey's? band security's? |
I would hope Lindsey is not that lecherous. If it was him, I suggest people petition Kristen to put a stop to it.

but who knows? |
I don't think it's his idea. If it was, Stevie would have already put a stop to it before it even happened.

I'm not sure who among the band is privy to that part of the show, but I see her as the most likely candidate to observe that. Maybe if she knew who exactly among the crew who is responsible for that, but surely they couldn't be blind to it, IDK.
Foot, meet mouth. |

There was something similar last night. We were told they were VIPs but they did appear to know the sings and the band as well as many of the other people up the front (except for the Ledgies!).
|
Yeah, they definitely were doing this toward the latter half of the US leg as well. At first people thought it might have been because they were filming the show and wanted younger faces up front for the cameras... But that clearly wasn't the reason as they did it more and more.
In past threads people were speculating that if they got the young kids up front, they might have an overall more awesome experience and go home and tell their friends about it. But that seems like kind of a stretch and rather complicated. As much as I hate to admit it, it would make more sense if it were done so Lindsey could look at some hot girls for a few hours, or so the security guy might find a desperate one willing to pay him some extra attention. |
Does anyone here go to many other mainstream boy-rock concerts? I don't, but I wouldn't be surprised if such practices were pretty standard in the genre. I imagine it might be viewed as a standard part of the job for a road crew. It probably wasn't Lindsey's idea, as it's just too difficult to picture him approaching a road crew and explicitly asking for such a thing. But I wouldn't rule out that possibility either, really, and either way, he obviously hasn't asked them to stop. Men enjoy what they're programmed to enjoy, and powerful men have the means to enjoy more of it. I have a hard time being too surprised or bothered by it.

I have definitely noticed LB giving more attention to the young hot chicks, not saying it was his idea, although I don't think it would surprise me. I was at a show where he practically ignored most of us in front of him in favor of flirting with a pretty blonde 20 year old all night, including putting his guitar right in front of her to strum, high fiving only her and giving her a pick. It was annoying to the rest of us, and I felt insulting to true fans. She may have been a real fan but I have seen plenty of others at the stage who didn't know one word and really didn't even know anything about the band.

Perhaps they are offered free tickets on the basis of their hotness? But even then, giving up an evening to a band you're not very interested in seems like a weird choice to me. |
If I were a hot 20 year old (only one of these applies to me, BTW), I would be out somewhere else. Not listening to a group of boring old farts way past their sell-by date.

Someone going to the London concerts should find one of these women and ask her some questions about her relationship with her father. I smell a thesis, people! |
I'm a young woman, but not necessarily hot. :p
"How did you get along with your father?" |

I have seen groups of girls go up front together. I was speculating on the reasons these non fans may be there not that all of them aren't familiar with the music to a degree. But say they met the band or crew in a bar and have kept in touch then they are just there for the gawk factor anyway and to say they went. I'm not sure the offer would be made as in separate from your party - surely people would say they are with a group and the offer would be extended to everyone. |

Who knows - maybe it makes FM feel less old to have younger beautiful people in the sea of faces at their feet every night. It must be a heck of a wake up call when the folks your age are sitting down yawning because it's past their bedtime and you're left with some middle aged fans who are reliving their youth. I'm sure it's an encouragement to see young people there at all or kids and to think you have made a mark musically that will continue to touch people - maybe it motivates them to want to make new fans and put on a better show. And it probably is a big stroke to the egos. I mean I am amazed at the young fans on twitter after every show making it know they would still like to sleep with Stevie or Lindsey despite their ages. I wonder if they are aware of that. |

I think they do it to make the stage area look younger, hipper, and more exciting. They don't want FM to look like a boring old nostalgia act. They want the stage to be surrounded by excited youthful 20 something's dancing and having fun, so it looks like a hipper crowd. I don't know if it's fair or wrong or whatever but I see the reasoning.
3 of my bestfriends were pulled up before (the infamous "we're legal" girls). Luckily in their case they are indeed real die hard fans (one having even flown cross country for the show!) and know everything and have histories following the band and Stevie solo, which actually everyone in my close group of friends has. We're lucky to have had so many opportunities for such young women. (: |
At the show in San Jose Lindsey flirted with the young 18 year girl standing next to me all night long. It was really weird. We were right up at the front and all through the night he'd walk over and give a her this lecherous stare and smile that were just creepy. It was distracting and uncomfortable to watch. For the girl too. She said she liked that he noticed her at first but after a while it all became too much and wanted to go back to her seat a few rows back. I wondered how many other girls he was doing this with.
We were in Lindsey's hometown so I also wondered why he was behaving this way with his wife, family, and friends probably in attandance. Turns out they were all at the LA show a few days later. Hopefully he was better behaved there. |
