What if we changed their names to Fly Face and Orange Head?
Then we could talk about them all we wanted and no one would be
the wiser.

Like...

We know things will be bad with Fly Face if elected.
But Orange Head is much more of a mystery. So are
we scared of what we know or what we don't?

That's a bit too obvious even to me that I'm an outsider.
However I repeat that the ban at the beginning wasn't intended to be necessarily permanent, but the restoring of the politics and religion topics depends on your behavior and respect of the rules.

i promise to be respectful and I think 99.5 % of the people who are still here will to

also South Park uses aliases for them ....but we are not allowed to use that kind of language here

I just wish the calendar all a sudden jump to November 9th and this whole ordeal is over with.At this point I just hope that who ever gets in that will keep us afloat. On the other hand the burning hot topics are in the Stevie/Rumours threads.LOL..............................

things that are happening are going too change the way things get done in the future regardless of the outcome things will never be the same

I thought I'd outsmarted you.

You went from psychiatrist to teacher.

Speaking of teachers, when did they become
heroes?

Tonight there have been other three seismic episodes like that of late August. I live in the far periphery of the seismic region so the effects were bland, just a bit of fear. Now our thoughts are for the towns that have been devastated, we have acquaintances and distant relatives that live near the epicentre.

Curious...

Political Threads

If Orange wins I'm thinking the Political Thread
ban will be discountinued.

If The Fly wins I'd be willing to bet that the ban
will continue.

louielouie2000 10-28-2016 08:46 AM

I'd be willing to bet if the political bear keeps getting poked, that suspensions will commence.

Hey louielouie2000, I really hope I am not suspended for flagging this up, but this quote of yours nearly had me choking on my Shreddies...

'As far as the festering malcontent around here; the Ledge has never, ever been a bed of roses. It's actually far more pleasant and peaceful now than it's ever been. Not that we can't strive for better. All the same, I am a big believer in letting this place be what it wants to be organically. There have been other sites over the years that tried to force certain mindsets; they didn't last'

I stand by my comment.

If one can't even express views at all, then what's
the use of this place?

But if I get suspended all I ask is to do it in an open
way. Let it be known publicly. And for how long.
Whether days or permanently. Not for my benefit,
but for the other members.

Your threat is much more troublesome than my
original post. Which in fact was quite tame. And if the
comments are deleted, I'd consider that a cowardly act.

This is a music forum so I really don't understand why we should insist to use this place to hold political discussions, there are limitless other places that are much more advisable where you can specifically do that.
Like everything here there are rules to follow to make sure that this place remains equally enjoyable for everyone, and they apply to anyone.
The ledge is a forum about Fleetwood Mac and "this place can be what it wants to be organically" in the sense that you can talk say what you want about the topic, even making rude comments about band members, as long as you follow the rules. But this is not a public place, it's a private space made to talk about the band and its members so it's not obbligatory for it to have space for political comments.

So if it is specifically a music forum what is the point in having a chit chat section at all then? If people do not 'enjoy' engaging in debate they need not frequent such pages. My recollection is that you used to contribute to such discussion as much as anyone.
Not so long ago it was touted that 'the ban was never intended to be permanent and could be lifted if people behaved themselves'. Okay, so what is it to be? Adult discussion was spolied by 14 year old Ledgies.

To be clear, I really couldn't give a stuff whether people are allowed to discuss politics (or any other touchy subject) or not. However, I do find it all a bit too 'big brother' and the inflammatory language about suspending people really is beyond ridiculous.

MovieStarView 10-28-2016 02:28 PM

I'm very confused. What is it I am missing here?
