I wouldn't be so fast to assume all the keyboard parts are Christine's. Particularly synth parts. Lindsey played keys on Mirage and a lot of the synth / keyboard parts on Tango were Lindsey's. The piano and organ parts most likely Christine, but the more synthy, programmed things might be Lindsey, or Mitchell Froom, or a session player.

PS I bought it from iTunes Australia as an album track. "Red Sun" appears to be the next track released - it displays in blue whilst the remaining tracks appear in faded grey.

Does it have the infamous buckingham whisper as the vocals

NotonRodeo 04-13-2017 09:37 AM

Just downloaded it from iTunes Philippines. At the risk of being a wet blanket/wowser I will admit to being unimpressed. It sounds like a less catchy version of You and I Part 2. It even has Big Love style grunts  at the 2 minute mark. Sad Angel was miles better than this.

There are a couple of 'hushed tones' here and there, but nothing as overtly annoying as the 'wispy, whispering vocals' we've become accustomed to hearing in recent times.

I doubt that would be the case on a duet album. Although, there is a lot of trickery with the guitar, keys, drums, bass through the producers.

She played a lot of the synths on Tango. It was they guitar voices (that sounded like keys) that he processed on Tango that you hear.

I can always tell if it's her by the style and listening to the left hand.

I'm dying to hear it.

What strikes me is how clean and relatively 'unproduced' the track is, at least by Lindsey's standards. It's quite slick and radio-friendly but not bogged down in production. I'm liking it a lot at this early stage.
I liked "Sad Angel" a lot but it was clunky in parts whereas "In My World" tends to flow more easily, perhaps because of Christine's contributions.

I thought Sad Angel was really clunky, too. So, I'm liking your review.

They really should have used a Christine McVie song as the lead single :sorry:

Lyrics:

Fare-farewell
Heart of gold
Maybe we're lost
Without the cost
With stories that we've told

In my world
Everybody stays
Nobody wishes for words they couldn't say
Bless my soul
Let the night unfurl
Dancing, spinning, dreaming
Singing in my world

Fare-farewell liberty
Maybe we're lost
Without the cost
Of who we used to be

In my world
Everybody stays
Nobody wishes for words they couldn't say
Bless my soul
Let the night unfurl
Dancing, spinning, dreaming
Singing in my world

(love-grunts...)

Lay-lay down
Fall about
Take your time
To cross the line
All without a doubt

In my world
Everybody stays
Nobody wishes for words they couldn't say
Bless my soul
Let the night unfurl
Dancing, spinning, dreaming
Singing in my world

Not sure about a couple of lines but did my best at almost 1am in Australia. I'm sure you'll be able to decipher the lines properly after a few listens.

Just heard it from iTunes preview on the Australian iTunes. I will say this. It's a good upbeat tune but if Stevie was singing on it then it would've been a hit. It's got that potential, it really has.

This just makes me even more frustrated at her absence.
