I saw them live in concert. They were the opening act for-I think, but not really sure, The Smashing Pumpkins.

Barnes and Noble has these leather bound books, but I only have enough money left on my gift card for one. There's too many. This would be so much easier if I didn't own all of Jane Austen's books because that would have been my number one choice.
Narnia- I already have all of them and read them, but they are old and falling apart.
Charles Dickens, Jules Verne, or The Vampire Chronicles- I don't own any of the books in each of these and I'll pretty much read anything, but I'm afraid that I might not like the books in them.
Hans Christian Andersen and Grimm's Fairy Tales- I think it would be cool to own the two Fairy tale books as 2 leather bound books, but of course I already have Grimm's.
Sherlock Holmes- I really want to read these two, but I'd rather get 4 or 5 books in one than 2.

Sorry for my little book rant. I love books and I love buying books so I have such a hard time choosing. I could spend and hours in a bookstore just looking around and deciding what to buy.

Holmes. Always always Holmes. I'd sacrifice a lot to have leather bound works of Conan Doyle. Even if it was only The Hound Of The Baskervilles.

Go for Charles Dickens - any story by him is totally wonderful.

My set of Narnia Chronicles is falling apart so my husand bought me a beautiful new boxed set. If I was to go on a quiz show then my specialist subject would be Narnia - totally know them back to front!

I think it's between Sherlock Holmes and Charles Dickens now. My first choice was Sherlock Holmes and then I saw the other ones. My friend loves Charles Dickens and we pretty much read the same books. I might just buy both because they aren't that much. I'll just have to cover whatever my gift card doesn't cover. Thanks for your input :wavey:

I've only read Narnia once but they were awesome I'll read them again sometime in the future.

I am going to hate myself tomorrow. Pulling an all-nighter so I don't oversleep and I'm able to be at Uni on time.

I don't have any lessons tomorrow, but, we have to pick our modules for next year, so, if I sleep in, I'll be stuck doing something really awful. Like "Analysing 18th Century Britain texts" Do not want.

I love reading books myself and I used to buy tons, but it got to the point where, 6 months ago, I had to buy a Kindle so I could have room in my bookcase.

Anyways, as for the book, go with hans Christian Andersen. I read a cheap BN paperback copy once and they're really good. Hell, his version of Little Mermaid is nothing like the Disney version (and kinda depressing too)

I saw them when I was in college. My best friend and I were obsessed. I still LOVE Shirley.

And Amberle- you can't go wrong with Dickens. :)

I have officially no room left on my bookcase. I have two piles of books on my floor and they are constantly growing. I plan on having a room in my future house dedicated to just my books :D

That's what I'm thinking too. I think I'm leaning towards Dickens now.

This sounds weird, but I have "The Ghosts Are Gone" playing in my head. I am either channeling this new song out of the ether... or I've just spontaneously written a song based on a random song title! But it's definitely Stevie singing the song in my head. It's a bit of a frantic song with lots of acoustic guitars, swirling strings and a manic drum beat. It's not unlike Eurythmics "When Tomorrow Comes," but faster and in a minor key; she's literally screaming out THE GHOSTS. are. go-o-o-one... God, I wish I had an acoustic guitar and a tape recorder...

I wish you did too! I've had dreams about hearing new Stevie songs but I can never remember them when I awake. Perhaps FM77 would like to weigh in on your description? ;)
