but no. i've always seen hands.

I'm pretty sure that picture was the inspiration for the "Mirage" on the front of the album. The F.M. album cover is a "nod" to it.

The REALLY fun part is to try to see both the old woman and the young woman at the same TIME!

(Or to try to quickly switch back-and-forth between the two.)

I suppose on the Dance cover, upon investigation, I do see something like a penguin wearing a necktie, but really it's like trying to find a marshmallow in white milk chocolate.

I'm not certain.

Nancy Buckingham, being an art teacher, may have been thinking of it when she suggested Mirage.

I always liked how the Hold Me video in the hot, dry desert with FM hallucinating played into the "mirage" theme.

The whole concept of the band members searching endlessly and not finding each other or whatever else it was they sought was very good too. Lindsey not being able to capture Stevie in paint . . . Stevie schlepping her own portrait across the sand in heels and an evening gown . . .it's a great video.

Thank You-I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't have a clue about a face-I have only seen it for what it is...hands.
