Oh dear, that doesn't sound too flattering.

Autumn release... I'm sure he'll need to play some live dates in support of that album. Perhaps he can fit them in and around the Fleetwood Mac tour!

Neil has already toured for the upcoming album. I just saw him on that tour and he and Liam played most of the soon to be released studio album. And Neil has said he's fully committed to focusing exclusively on the Fleetwood Mac tour. Perhaps he'll tour in 2019 after the Fleetwood Mac tour ends. Neil is also planning a studio album with his brother Tim (as The Finn Brothers) for 2019 or 2020 and that's apparently already written.

That was funny when his brother said, "you'll have to sleep with all of them."

If I'm not mistaken, Liam is Neil's son, which makes it even funnier!

Liam Finn is Neil's elder son. Both of Neil's sons are very talented singer-songwriter musicians. Liam is the older one and Elroy Finn is the younger one.

"Kare Kare" (the old Crowded House song) would sound great with Fleetwood Mac especially with Mike Campbell ripping through the guitar parts. And that Finn chord change from the verse to the chorus is just so brilliant ... here is a live performance and the studio version.

Has Neil ever had a balls out rock song? I hope Mike can steer him in that direction, but Mike has some fluff on his record, which could just be the fact he was writing more for the needs of the specific artist than a band as a whole.

Yes ... Neil can absolutely rock. Watch these ...

It's very sad that Lindsey is no longer part of the Fleetwood Mac lineup, but I can't think of a better songwriter/lead singer to take Lindsey's place than Neil Finn. Some artists' music gets less interesting the more you listen. Neil's music gets more interesting the more you listen because he packs so many layers into his lyrics and music.

If you're new to Neil Finn's music or just know his song "Don't Dream It's Over" and have interest in hearing more of his music, I would recommend checking out the following great albums.

From Crowded House, check out these two incredible studio albums:

Woodface
Together Alone

From Split Enz, check out the following compilation album:

History Never Repeats: The Best of Split Enz

From Neil's solo career, check out the following two incredible studio albums:

Try Whistling This
Out of Silence

From Neil's career with his brother as The Finn Brothers, check out this great studio album:

Everyone Is Here

And from Neil's career with his 7 Worlds Collide project, check out the outstanding live album:

7 Worlds Collide: Live at The St. James

Enjoy!!!

I have to agree. Woodface and Together Alone were my starting point with all things Finn and I made sure to buy the History Never Repeats compilation soon after. I could never get into his solo stuff I'm afraid. Too experimental and 'ambient' for me.

Crowded House/Neil Finn is one of my favorite bands and that is one of the reasons I can’t see him fronting my all time favorite band. My music worlds have collided.

SteveMacD 09-17-2018 06:21 PM

Eh, not exactly my definition of balls out rock. This is a little closer to what I was thinking.

And, posting a video of him with Eddie ups cred…

Watch out for the dust then...

Crikey what a tangled web! Just when I was thinking we might get an album from this lineup of FM in 2020 too. I don't care if there's only four out of the classic five, I just want a Fleetwood Mac that makes albums. The soap opera was a lot more interesting when at least it produced something creative.
