Don't worry too much, the post-rumours fans amongst us can be a bit touchy. :)

You should listen to Time though, if only so that you can say "I didn't like that".

The argument is an old one though - Bekka doesn't get the respect she deserves because she was a follow-up to Stevie Nicks - very big shoes to fill. However, if you sit down to appreciate Bekka for her own talent, and forgetting that she replaced Stevie, and forgetting if you want that she was even in Fleetwood Mac, I think you'll discover a very talented woman with a knockout voice.

So anyone recommend any Bekka tracks off Time for me?

Well...

Her tracks off the album are Dreamin' The Dream, Nothing Without You and Winds of Change. She also does duet/backing vocals with Billy on Talkin' To My Heart, and some great backing vocals on Dave's Blow By Blow and I Wonder Why (although the latter of these is open to discussion as to whether she can be a bit screechy at the end over the great Dave Mason guitar bit).

Personally I think Dreamin' The Dream is one of the most beautiful songs to come out of Fleetwood Mac - ever. Right up there with Beautiful Child by Stevie Nicks and Man of the World by Peter Green.

Plus, if you want to hear a bit more of Bekka's solo stuff (and of course you do) then go here http://www.myspace.com/bekkabramlett/music/playlists

EDIT

Oh and something else I should mention, her voice has matured a lot since she left Fleetwood Mac, it is way better now than it was then. Go and find "Stay Down In New Orleans" - a brilliant song by Bekka.

This is so very true.

On Time, I always felt the band should have let Christine do her solo album and Billy and Bekka could've forged ahead doing their own, distinct thing.

Sorry Dave Mason--you don't fit anywhere in my "should have" fantasies.

I've not voted in the poll, but I do want to say to Meowi, please do listen to Time. Homer encouraged me to and I'm glad I did. I don't enjoy Bekka's voice much (don't anyone please take offence at that, chances are you don't like half the musicians I do) but Christine outshines even her Tango songs on there. Nights in Estoril is in my top 5 favourite songs by Chris. I do agree that Bekka has the most trained voice, I just don't particularly like it. Like Chris said though, listen to Time even if it's just to say you don't like it :)

Where's the ' no ' option? ;)

:distress:

The LAST thing Bekka did was "pretend she is Stevie Nicks"...she brought her own whole new thing to Fleetwood Mac.

The sad thing is that too many people in the audience had chiffon colored blinders & earplugs on to notice.

Open minds, people, open minds.

Why would we need one of those?

Thats ok though, to say, "I've listened to Time a few times, and Bekka's voice just didn't do it for me". I think the same thing about Lindsey Buckingham, but at least I can say I listened. ;)

It really is just those who refuse to listen to Time that cause the angry response (at least from me).

Like I said earlier, Bekka has matured a lot from when I first heard her back in 1995. When I bought Time it was the current album and I thought to myself "This girl has a nice voice" but I wasn't totally into Stevie at that point so it didn't strike me as odd that she wasn't there.

Now having progressed through the years through the Bekka & Billy album and her solo album (or both if you count the one sold at shows) I can see how this young woman has developed an amazing voice and how much it has matured since 1995.

I do encourage anyone who doesn't like her Time stuff to go out and at least listen to her latest album.

I made a point of listening to her solo work, just incase it was only Time that I didn't like :) I've never been 'mad' at her for 'trying to replace Stevie', because she just has never done that. Albeit I'm obviously not the biggest Stevie fan on the boards but I'd not want to brand her with something like that when she just didn't do that and had no intentions of doing so. Had she been twirling in black chiffon, maybe then I'd have had something to say on the matter

As for the poll, I can't vote unless the entire existance of Christine is wiped from my memory :p

And I saw Time, and thought she was EXCELLENT! She completely won me over! Stevie Who?

Chiffon colored blinders? Can I use that?

Open minds, are the last thing, Goatina's fans have ever been accused of possessing.....;)

Talkin' to my Heart is my favorite non-Christine song on the album. It's a wooonderful duet.

It's funny to me that groups like Lady Antobellum and Big Little Town etc etc want to be Rumours-era Mac, but can't even get close to "Talkin' to My Heart" much less "Go Your Own Way" . . .

p.s. -- I like Bekka but I would still rank her third to Stevie and Christine who are epic goddesses who influenced music and culture for a reason . . . and their distinctive, special voices had a looot to do with it. Not that Bekka's voice doesn't have personality, cuz it do.

I'd just like to say one thing;
