Even if that was true, she still had power. The coup happened when she was in London. She still had options. I don't believe at her age she is obligated to tour with the Mac. But that's just my opinion.

i love what he said about Christine's letter. i love what she wrote to him, starting with i miss you and i had nothing to do with this.

It seems to be all about the "Big Machine" and money. Lot's of money. Irving Azoff screaming at Lindsey that he did it this time. Lindsey talks in his lawsuit of "others" being involved. Irving wanted his big payout too. So crass.

I wish the others in the group would have told Stevie to suck it up. If you don't like it then you leave. Call her bluff. I think they thought about how it worked in 86 when Lindsey left so it would work again. People are flocking to the concerts, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I think it's time for Lindsey to put away Fleetwood Mac for good, and permanently take up his own work. This ending is his opportunity to devote himself to himself, without having to pull musical punches for the functional aspects of a circus and spectacle. He said so himself earlier in the year, so let him treat it like one.

He can do anything he wants now (as long as he can afford it): He can record when he wants and what he wants, and he can play out live when he wants and what he wants. He can find whatever other outlets he wants, too, whether that's scoring movies (everybody knows James Newton Howard and Danny Elfman more for their movie scores than their earlier band work) or painting or writing or even teaching master classes in music technology so that the Brian Wilson and George Martin approaches aren't lost forever.

Do your Whitman thing, Buckingham.

I saw him in DC the week after the lawsuit was filed, and I saw him last week in York. Granted, these were not M&G experiences, but he looked and acted so much happier on stage last week than he did in October. Could have just been the day, the set (DC had some technical glitches), or any number of things. But I wonder if it wasn’t the settlement and putting all this behind him. But I secretly hope it was the email from Chris that really lifted his spirits. Still holding out hope for BuckVie 2!!

If Christine had quit, the band could have sued her.

The one who could have stopped it was Mick. He could have told Stevie, "We're not firing anyone. Sleep on it for a month and then decide whether you want to stay or go, but we'll dissolve the band or (if you quit) carry on without you before we fire anyone."

Stevie would have calmed down, stayed, and the show would have gone on.

I agree with this. On another note that interview when Stevie said “ 4 of us were going to tour and one wasn’t go to” ok.... well, 4 of us wanted to record an album but.....? That’s the next question that should have been asked in that interview.

Great parallel. By the standard that prevailed on that project, they should call this tour non FM but McVie-Nicks.

It’s about money. Tours make money, albums don’t, especially the way they make albums.

Couldn’t he do that while he was in the band though? In addition whether he was in the band or not over the past 30 years I don’t think he did much production (besides for himself), painting or scoring work, if any.

He could have been Whitman anytime. He’ll be back in this band.

CbBen -- Mick threatening to dissolve Fleetwood Mac? There would have been a pregnant pause followed by Stevie laughing hysterically for five minutes.

Mick would corral John to keep touring if all they could find as replacement members were a taxidermied squirrel and an antique hat stand.

yeah. right.

if $tevie was sorry she would say so
but then she'd have to be sorry about something ... and this was all lindsey's fault

But to not even answer his email until settlement time? I understand that her lawyer instructed her not to have any communication with him, but what happens if you disobey your lawyer. He doesn’t kill you. She could’ve answered his email. Even now she could pick up a phone rather than emailing him

Yes. Of all the crappy behavior this year, John's was the least crappiest in order of crapitude.

"Sorry mate but I'm not allowed to talk to you" or whatever was the reply he sent.

Absolutely....I'll never understand her lack of communication....If she'd simply written an email, what would have happened...FM firing her or lawyers suing her as a result...as if......She was ball-less

I am happy she has finally communicated with him but a year later....
