Your responses regarding KB's statement remind me of the denouement of the first Harry Potter book.

I've already been. It was at The Knitting Factory that year. I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in the towers, shopped at Saks, went to great restaurants and had an incredible time. I love New York. :)
I think my next big Stevie expenditure will be seeing her be the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as both a solo artist and band member. Anybody know any good restaurants in Cleveland?

You mean like all of the pre-recorded vocals and instrumental tracks on the LB/CM tour or the backing tracks played on the One Man Show tour? Or the taped intro to "Tusk?" Yes, karaoke is annoying.

I agree that Stevie has been much smarter in creatively adapting her melody lines over the decades to suit her vocal range, whereas Lindsey and Christine have insisted on adamantly sticking to the sheet music as it were, right up to and beyond the point where the instrument is broken. I wonder if CM and LB would be in slightly better vocal shape now if they had followed Stevie's lead on that front.

Nice try. LB and CM totally changed their old songs to suit their current voices. I can only think of one FM song that Lindsey still sings in its original key ("Tusk"). Christine has also dropped the keys to most of her old songs, although not quite as dramatically. Ironically, Stevie's old FM songs are performed in their original keys and she only dodges a handful of notes in "Rhiannon," "Dreams" and "Gypsy." And more recently, she punts on the GDW wail... but you have to admit that, of the three, her voice is far and away stronger, clearer and more on pitch than Lindsey or Christine these days.

 lol

I was talking about adjusting the actual melody lines, not the entire key. And also talking about over the duration of their touring careers, not just recent years.

No doubt the three days off between shows helps, but yes--the melody lines may be different from year to year, but whatever she sings she always sings it with gusto. I think of her as treating each song to be performed as a palette that she paints freely with, whereas LB and CM have tended to be a lot more left brained in their performances--maybe something to do with the hours they spend in the studio fine-tuning precise melody lines and instrumentation.

YES, that's EXACTLY what I f*cking mean. Is that the response you wanted?
