Then only way for her to crawl back in to her pretentious space was to get rid of Lindsey.

THIS.THIS.THIS.THIS.THIS.

Old hag.

They'll be just fine. It's called royalties. You ever heard of an album called Rumours and other numerous best selling FM albums which Lindsey was a MAJOR part of? Gravy train isn't stopping anytime soon for the Buckinghams. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Exactly. As if she was the only one cashing in on the fake romance.

When Stevie finally realized it was all an act, she got her revenge in the only way she could think of. Pathetic.

Seems like you are conveniently forgetting that it was Stevie that broke up with Lindsey and has turned him down at pretty much every corner for the last 40 years. But go ahead and rewrite history.

Haha! Really?! She was the one who said to Lindsey during the Unleashed tour that they needed to act their relationship on stage. And she even mentioned it to the press.

Yes, I'm aware she dumped him. And then she was jealous of his relationship with Carol Ann and told her she will never marry him.
And then she said she was the only one who always loved him for the right reasons. And then she got him fired. End of the story.

And all of this was past tense. Yes I know they acted it out on stage but anyone that knows anything about the band knew it was an act. And that includes Stevie obviously.

With a heavy dash of Norma Desmond.

Holy cow, what a scene. 😮

bombaysaffires 08-29-2018 11:17 PM

now that y'all mention it, Stevie does have a thing for stories where women burn places down, and themselves with it.

The Wide Sargasso Sea has something very similar-- "she burned his house down" "They never found her" because in the story she sets the house on fire and herself with it.

Yowza. The opening few seconds of the clip above are very reminiscent of the opening part of the Gyspy video. And the chick walking around her in her long white dress is very like Stevie in the If Anyone Falls video.....

This post from a few years ago fits in perfectly (in fact, the whole video of "Everyday" from Trouble in Shangri-La) with "Great Expectations" and Stevie as Miss Havisham:

I know, I was a little startled when I saw it. It's intense and quite sad. I've wondered how Stevie is going to end up at "the end of the road". What will her perspective be on the life she has lived? She's going to dance around her apartment for the next ten years, then what? It will be interesting to see.
