The instruments on If You Were My Love are really awesome. I actually don't like Stevie's singing on it though. I feel like she should have been smoother and more delicate. She was too rough and shouty with the singing.

SorcererJP 09-22-2016 11:40 PM

I could not get to sleep last night and at exactly midnight the 'DeLuxe' version came available on Spotify. a 20-song version. Remastered the songs sound great.

The ' That's allright' outtake is just gorgeous ... WOW.

Earlier that night I received an E-mail from Dutch Bol.com that my order was send out ... So, have the real thing in hand after work today :-)

BaronVonBielski 09-23-2016 12:13 AM

Now my deluxe version is in Vernon, CA. So at least it's in the same state as me. Still supposedly being delivered tomorrow.

pattyfan 09-23-2016 12:27 AM

Looks like all
Songs on YouTube!

shackin'up 09-23-2016 05:38 AM

Got it! First play: the outtake-and demodisc. Great stripped Love in Store, instrumental (beauuuuutiful) Can't Go Back, stripped Book of love (better!) the real real countryversion (also better!) of That's Allright. Gypsy playing now. Like it!

WOW, Empire State!!!!! What a CRACKING version!

deribish 09-23-2016 06:20 AM

i could listen to that EPIC ENDING of "If you were my love" every day until I die and it would make each day better!

olive 09-23-2016 06:27 AM

just downloaded it ... playing That's Alright outtake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):

I wish she'd made a country record
when she had the voice

Wdm6789 09-23-2016 06:55 AM

It really needs the full 22 songs from their 1982 live set. I want live Hold Me and another live Sara.

SisterNightroad 09-23-2016 07:18 AM

I just installed spotify just to hear it, I'm gushing over That's alright right now.

GJK 09-23-2016 08:56 AM

Has anybody found the composer credits for the 'new' songs on disc 2 yet?

I agree, I'm very dissapointed with the live tracks

Me neither. This is even worse than the CDs of Kiln House and Future Games coming out without writer credits. Here you don't even get them when you put the disc in the computer.

I have further quibbles with the packaging (am halfway into Disc 1 at present). Below is the comment I made in the FM Fanatics group on Facebook:

Just bought the Mirage remaster (2-disc edition). Sounds OK so far but a few quibbles with the packaging.

1. There are NO writing credits for the tracks on the bonus disc!!! OK so a lot of them are of stuff we know already but for previously unheard tracks (and there are a few) surely we should be entitled to them.

2. Larry Vigon's awesome penguin drawing has been miniaturised and reverted to grey on black outline.

3. The liner notes - chats with Mick, Lindsey and Stevie about the recording but no questions about the songs and their inspirations or how Chris came to work with writers like Robbie Patton on the album.

4. Also nothing about how the title, cover design etc came about. Come on Warners, I expect more for my bob than this when I buy a deluxe edition.

I am loving the early version of Empire State. He's trying to capture the sound of the city. I wish we could have heard a little more of that in the finished version. Fleetwood Mac sounds delightfully pop punk in this version.
I'm massively bummed out at the version of Smile At You that was used. Does the band/Ken not know what the fans consider to be the definitive version of that song? Do they hate it or something?

jarlic 09-23-2016 01:24 PM

Music aside, I am still in love with the front and back cover photos, even with the old woman's face!

FuzzyPlum 09-23-2016 02:32 PM

I want to scream.
I got the email from Amazon at lunch time today to say it had been delivered and taken in by my next door neighbour.
I excitedly rushed home.
Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the neighbours have been out all evening.

MusicInferno 09-23-2016 02:39 PM

Is the only way to get the Live CD by buying the 3CD+LP+DVD set?

I loooove the alternate versions of That's Alright and Empire State!

BaronVonBielski 09-23-2016 02:54 PM

Got it. 3 down, hopefully more to go.

jbrownsjr 09-23-2016 03:29 PM

Wow!! I love the alt version of Only Over You!!

The piano is gorgeous. That distorted guitar is evil. What a contrast. Love this!

Bandon 09-23-2016 03:39 PM

I always loved the live version of Eyes of the World so much better than the tentative, formulated studio version.

Old woman's face?

Mind you I always did think Chris and Stevie's tops matched very nicely against that black background.

I've got mine - I'm on the train and headed home with it. I'm very excited to hear it on my stereo, especially those live tracks. I know The Chain is going to sound amazing!

deribish 09-23-2016 06:05 PM

Amazon sent my copy via USPS. WHY would Amazon trust this to the post office? ugh! They could just decide NOT to deliver it today. They arent accountable like UPS. Im still waiting!! hate you post office!!

jwd 09-23-2016 06:35 PM

I haven't even really focused on the live cd yet as I'm hooked on disc 2, taking in all the alternate versions and outtakes. All their voices are flawless. Loving the Chris and Lindsey harmonies on EOTW! The original vinyl version of SB has more of a Chris presence which I'm liking a lot. The keys stand out more to me, in a very good way...."fingers find the ivory keys", yep! Gotta love Stevie's comment in the beginning of IYWML, "make it more sparkly sounding" referring to Chris and Linds and how they are playing.

AnthonyMI 09-23-2016 07:48 PM

I ordered via Amazon UK. It i has shipped. Paid 38 English Pounds. Not sure what that is Merican.

Mine has yet to ship from Amazon UK.

Andy Man 09-23-2016 08:00 PM

Has anybody else who ordered from Amazon Canada gotten their super deluxe copy? I just received an e-mail today stating that it is expected between October 21 - November 1. I ordered the think back in May!

Had same exact comment regarding these outtakes. Also, love Only Over You.

BaronVonBielski 09-23-2016 08:37 PM

The 5.1 surround is amazing.

I could get lost in that song. Simply beautiful. Are you liking the "strings" in "Wish You Were Here"? It does have a more cinematic vibe as an earlier poster stated.

My only complaint is that Only Over You is way too loud at least in the 5.1 mixes. Much louder than the rest. I haven't read back to see if anyone else has noticed it. Has anyone?

On a positive note, the sounds one can hear that were never audible before are mind blowing. One of the top 2 5.1 surround mixes I have ever heard. It's like a new album.

Don't have the 5.1 yet. Looking forward to hearing that though. Thanks for your input.
