Hi..I was going through a few of my rare StevieFM tracks and I have a few questions about a few things...

#1. Were there any OFFICIAL/LEGAL alt versions released from Street Angel?...

#2. I have a version of Rock A Little that was labeled as a REMIX...Its not much different then the album but just enough to notice...What is it?..A REMIX or an ALT version?...And was it released officially?

#3. Where did the SUPER STAR SMOOTH REMIX of I Miss You come from?..Any idea at all?...

Didn't "Enchanted" contain alternative mixes of the "Street Angel" tunes like "Destiny" & "Blue Denim"? Some fans think those were the Glyn Johns mixes from earlier on, before he & Stevie parted company on the project. Otherwise, the stuff that fans call the "Abbey Road Mixes" is all just bootlegger dribble.

2. I think there is a 12-inch vinyl remix of "Rock a Little." It was official. "The Nightmare" had a very different instrumental & vocal mix on the "I Can't Wait" 12-inch vinyl. I loved it at the time.

Hey David- "I loved it at the time"-isn't that the truth. I rocked the house with my vinyl I Cant Wait/The Nightmare remix. Tried listening to the nightmare remix lately? Hmmm, just doesn't quite work. Remixes were so funny then. Although The Nightmare had a little different spin on the song ( I loved the "this is not the world, not the world, not the REALLLLLLLLLL world" part) most of the remixes then were just the exact song but stretched out longer...perfect example: Seven Wonders remix!

I *think* the alternate versions of "Destiny," "Street Angel," and "Blue Denim," on 'Enchanted,' are actually what would be the "middle stages" of these songs.

After parting ways with Glyn Johns (the original producer for 'Street Angel'), Stevie and Thom Panunzio stripped the songs down, and began adding new, and additional, instrumentation (including contributions from Waddy Wachtel, whom Mr. Johns had originally blocked from playing on the album).
From what Stevie has said, at some point they abandoned the project for a while, and after her stay in rehab, she came back to the album, and added more overdubs.
Never entirely pleased with the outcome, she eventually decided to just release the album as it stood.

So, it's my belief that the 'Enchanted' versions are actually what the songs sounded like after Glyn Johns' original production was stripped away, and during the first round of Stevie & Thom's work on them... but before the later overdubs.

Again, like David said, this "remix" of "Rock A Little," was released on the b-side of the UK 12" single for "I Can't Wait" (the first time it was released, in 1987).
But although this is credited as a "remix"... in my opinion, it's more along the lines of an alternate take, or an "alternate unedited version."

Some of Stevie's vocals are identical to the album version, while other parts are different, and there are more vocals from Sharon, Lori, et al. (On the album version, only Lori can be heard.)
The song is also longer, of course... but the main instrumentation is exactly the same. To my ears, there is absolutely no indications of an actual "remix."

(By the way, if you have the lyric sheet for the 'Rock A Little' album, you'll see that the lyrics closely follow *this* version of "Rock A Little (Go Ahead Lily)," not the album version.
The same is true of the lyric sheet for 'Mirage'... it follows the lyrics of the "alternate unedited version" of "Gypsy," from 'The Chain,' and not the album version)

So... for my records, I always list it as an "alternate version."

Hope some of this info helps!
