Hey all,
I had to let everyone know if they have not heard yet. Tonight, Mick said in his chat that "Sara" may be performed on the tour!!!!!!!!!!
I almost had a heart attack when I read it. I yelled so loud that I scared the hell out of my cousin in the next room. I know he said "may be" but that's enough to get me ecstatic!!!
I had to let you all know.

$%#$%#$%@#$^%#!!!!!
I forgot about the chat tonight. Damn it!
But that is great news! I figured they would bring it back. Does anyone know if there will be a transcription of the chat anywhere?

I wouldn't believe it until I heard it from Stevie herself. You know how she is about her songs....they are her children, after all, and "Sara" is particularly special.
I hope it is true, because it would mean they have all really been discussing some deep stuff if they have been singing "Sara" again. As you all well know, that song has many layers and is about alot of heavy stuff from a very difficult time in her/their lives. I would like to think Mick wouldn't just toss something out like that lightly.
I am going to wait before I get too excited. I think the reason she stopped singing it in concerts has more to do with what it is about than the reasons she gave, you know, "It's boring to do on stage", or "the audience doesn't like it anymore". I think it just got too painful. I am wincing a little just thinking about it for her.
If she does perform it again, it will mean she has healed from alot of that stuff (I hope), so that's nice to think about.

keep in mind its mick and he has a tendancy to make things up a bit. I wount belive it untill stevie says something herself althoug i would die..... if they sang it i would be really interested to see/ hear it due to steves voice change since it was last done I wonder how its gonna saound in her deeper huskier voice (which i love) as apposed to the softer higher voice on tusk.

Sara was last performed at the beginning of the Rock a Little tour, until it was dropped. I think the rumor that it was sung once on the Behind the Mask tour has been struck down, but I'm not sure.
It's just strange that they would bring back Sara when the keyboardist isn't around anymore. Not that they won't HAVE a keyboard player, but I would think they would have brought it back when Christine was there. I'm still surprised that in the nostalgia (sp? I'm too tired) of The Dance, they didn't do that song. But maybe, just maybe, since Stevie did the keyboard part (or one of the keyboard parts) on the recording, she will go behing the keys and do it herself. That might be kind of interesting...

If she really does do this on the tour, I will have to take my Sara. Now that she knows I named her after this song, she absolutely loves it! She says "listen mommy, she says my name".... It's really cute!
I would be a bawling fan at a concert if she does this again!

My thoughts exactly. She always said it didn't transfer well so I'll believe it when I hear it

i posted too on the Rumours board:I think Lindsey could do a brillant job arranging this without so much emphasis on the piano. I just feel that with Christine gone and someone else doing her part they might not do justice to the song. Plus, i've never liked anyone else's piano playing except for Christine's on that song...Lindsey should do some nice acoustic work. I'll talk to him about it
Whoever said above "i'll believe it when i see it..." i'm there with ya! I've been waiting 16 years (first Stevie or FM show) to see and hear this song live...everytime i went to a show the same old thing "i wonder if they'll do 'sara'?" i gave up after the goods weren't delivered during the Dance tour. = (
And, i think SOTM is permanently retired...if she doesn't want to do "Sara" (and i say "want" because if she really wanted to she could find a way to do it....i think Stevie's personally bored with the song) and that song was a MAJOR hit for them i doubt she'd do an album track from the same record...This may be a good thing too (about SOTM)...i don't think i'd like hearing it a la calmer Stevie of today.
also...Stevie did part of "Sara" on Storytellers as a teaser...i didn't think it sounded too good....it was in a different key and she sounded like she forgot how the song went. maybe it's better if she didn't do it.
i'll believe it when i see it too....case(s) in point:
in the 1987 press conference Stevie said they were going to do "are you mine" on tour....in 1990 FM "is doing a blues album" according to a band member (which turned out to be BTM)...there are others too but these give you an idea.

I also posted on the Rumors board about this & I am not counting my chickens before they hatch! As much as I love Sara, SOTM, & a lot of Buckingham Nicks tunes as well as other FM songs we haven't heard in a while, I doub't that we will get to hear them again. I would be thrilled if we did! Of all of the songs that they don't play anymore or never had for that matter, I believe Sara is at the bottom of the list! (Stevie's list at least  )
Although, ;) , they do have a void to fill with CHris's absense! ;)

they do have a void to fill with CHris's absense!
This is exactly what I was going to post about. First of all, I doubt we will hear more than 6 new songs from the new album, if even that many. Stevie always says, since after the Rumours tour, that they don't like doing too many new songs because the audience didn't respond well when they did so many Rumours songs (even though they ended up doing a lot of Tusk songs on the next tour). But the basic average for them is four new songs. Stevie mentioned at the Pittsburgh TISL show that she was scared to do new songs, since she was doing six new songs. SO, to reiterate, I doubt we'll hear any more than that.
Now, Fleetwood Mac usually rounds out a concert at about 22-25 songs these days. Stevie will probably have at least 10 songs to do. You figure three new ones, definitely Rhiannon, Landslide, Dreams, and Gold Dust Woman, there's three songs left to fill. We can probably count on Silver Springs, and probably Gypsy, although those are less dependable. Even still, that leaves Stevie one more song. That's where the toss up comes (unless they do Stand Back again). I mean, I'm hoping they will do about 25 songs and not flake out on us because they don't have Christine's songs, and if they do 25 songs, that's about 2-3 more Stevie songs. I really wonder if this will be the case. If so, we have a good possibility of songs not heard yet, or bringing back old tour songs (like Sara and Sisters). Then again, this is all in speculation. The point is, Stevie will have to do more songs if they keep the number of songs they usually do, and so I'm speculating that we will be surprised with at least one song. So, I'm doing what could be a bad thing and getting my hopes up, not necessarily to hear Sara, but to hear something we haven't heard before or haven't heard in a long time.

I agree. And I also posted this in the the Rumours board...
I don't really think they'll add many old songs to the setlist that they haven't already been playing in resent years... As much as I want to see SOTM (and I'll keep praying), it probably won't happen *cries*. Sara would be nice to see, but it really wouldn't bother me if they didn't play it.
On the topic of Chris.... I think that the void will be filled with mostly songs from the new album.... since they keep saying it will most likely be a double album, they will have ALOT of new songs to pick from. And I'm really looking forward to the new songs!

Sorcerer386's post makes sense... I posted my previous post before I got to read hers... and I said this on the Rumours board... It makes no difference to me if they play all new songs or all old songs... either way it'll be great!

If Sara is included,, maybe it would be the reason to do the crazy travel again, just from Peru to USA just to see the mac, as I did in 1997.
I thought I wouldn't do it again, specially since Christine is not present, but if Sara is present... hummm I think I can do it!!!
btw.. have you read about POLICE? read my post in chit chat

Sara was actually performed at the start of the European leg of the "Shake the Cage Tour" (Tango). The tape that's floating around is Gothenburg, Sweden (May 28, 1988), which has an abbreviated and uninspired rendition. It fell between "Stop Messin' Around" and "Everywhere," but ultimately dropped from the set as the tour moved through Europe.

Oh yeah...I forgot about that. Someone had mentioned it before. Really though, what songs from Tango really seemed inspired from tired Ms. Nicks? She seems so sluggish on the Tango video. I DO have a full concert, the second show from the tour, and she's not too bad, but I think Epstein Barr caught up to her in the long run.

Yeah, that little bit of Sara on Storytellers was kind of weird. She wasn't playing like she knew the beat, she was singing it in a different kind of rhythm (of course we all know she can get weird when she gets nervous, she seems to get nervous about impromptu things...and that did seem impromptu) and then she stopped abruptly and said something like "see, that really is my song" (maybe referring to the lawsuit where the woman sued saying Stevie stole her song. ) I thought: well I know it's your song, but I wouldn't know it from that performance!

which one is this (city, state?) ? I've been wanting to get a video from the beginning of that tour especially one with "Rhiannon"...I saw them in LA at the end of the tour. No "Rhiannon". =(

I forget what city, but it's Iowa I'm pretty sure. She does do Rhiannon, and it's kind of good. She doesn't go into the whole "Dream on..." thing, but she gets pretty into the "All the same" part. The only thing I DON'T like is the background singers during that part. Their mics were on way too high, and it kind of makes it sound a little 80's-ish almost (I know it WAS the 80's, but you just don't 80's-ize Rhiannon). That's just my opinion. Her vibrado is pretty intense during the whole song too..actually, through the whole show. It's not a bad show overall though if that's the one you are getting.
