Which version of Crystal do you like best?

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me, but I like the Practical Magic soundtrack version the best. I really like Stevie's voice here and I think the instumentation is beautiful. But I love all versions, it's just a great song!

Well, I agree...I like the Practical Magic version the best. And well I pretty much agree with your whole post...the main reason I like it best is because of her voice. I just LOVE the "older Stevie" voice...though I do like the other two versions, if I had to chose one...the PM version would definetly be it :)

I went with Fm version becase I dont like the way Lindsey sounds on the BN version of it plus it doesnt have Chris kickass key boards at the end which for me just brings it home. BN feels kinda incomplete. Good but just not enough to satisfy. On the PM soundtrack I think that stevie doesnt sound that good + her voice is kinda scratchey and seems a little sub par. Plus that song needs lindsey and Stive's hamonys other whise it sounds kinds BLAH. and I think the FM version brings that out the most I cant stand Sheryls backup vocals on it and the violin thing is so schmaltsey dont get me wrong the PM version isnt terrrible but its just not my vave. I hope we get to hear this on the upcoming tour I would die to hear lindey sing this!!!!

I really like the Practical Magic version of Crystal. I, like Deanna, love the "older Stevie" voice. I like the other two versions too.. but I just like the way Stevie sings it better than the Lindsey versions.

I see I'm the lone voter for the BN version, lol!
I like it best because the oboe at the end is so pretty, and Lindsey just sounds so.....male, on it, I guess.
Also, it is the closest thing to a true love song we have from him. Him singing her words is such a wonderful sentiment.
I would love to know the story about just how that decision was made, you know for him to sing it instead of Stevie. I just have a feeling there's a real juicy story behind it that only those two know! Something involving candles and bubble baths, maybe? Soemthing that won't ever be included in any book, that's for sure! hee hee!

....and don't try to tell me it was purely because his voice was more suited to it, blah, blah, blah...or something like that......
I just know there is more to it than that! Wouldn't you like to know? hmmmm haha!! I sure would!

You're not alone, Sharon! lol! I LOVE the BN version...and I soooo wanna know the "behind the music" story on it! :laugh: The WA version is a close second. Don't really care for the PM version...although I DO love Stevie's "mature" voice...I just prefer Lindsey singing it. :nod: :)

I cry during it too. Someone called me once while I was listening to it and I just started bawling. He was freaking out. "What is it? Are you alright?"

4 votes for BN! Lindsey sounds soooo SEXY in that one. The FM version is ok & would be second on my list. I do not care for Chris's harmonies in it though & I love Chris! I just think that song is special between Lindsey & Stevie & holds much more sentimental quality on the BN version. As for PM. I don't care for it at all. I can't get used to Lindsey not singing with Stevie backing him up. Let's face it, it was MEANT to be played & heard the way it is on BN! There's just something soft, sweet & simple about it.

I am curious to know out of all the people who voted, how many have heard all three versions?

I have heard all three version...multiple times...I think it's a great song....so whenever I had a crush or was infatuated w/someone I'd listen to it all sappy like lol...usually the FM version, because until recently I didn't have the PM version on cd...and I rarely listen to Buckingham/Nicks...so yeah...I've heard all three :)

I have heard all three versions. I do have to say that I like the BN version better than the FM version. There is a soft quality to it that you don't quite hear on FM's version. My fave though still remains the PM version.

I've only heard the FM version, but I really want to hear the BN version.

I agree...I love her voice now, and the PM Version of Crystal is my favorite version...now I DO THINK, that on the FWM Tour, her and Lindsey should sing it together....switching off lines, and then blending together in certain parts...i think it would sound great!!

I love 'em all, but if I have to pick just one...Buckingham/Nicks version then. Yeah, that's my favorite! Wouldn't it be awesome if the did that one live on the upcoming tour! :nod:
