View Full Version : Vintage Years Live
Just happened to notice that this will be released on Oct. 8 by Fleetwood Mac. Does any one know anything about this album? Details please. I'm assuming it will be live performances from the pre-rumours era Mac.
Thanks

Just guessing, but "educatedly guessing" all the same...
...probably more rehash of the Live In Boston tapes. You'd think that after the 3-disc Boston Box and releasing those same 3 discs individually, that would be "it", wouldn't ya?
I'd HOPE that it would be something more interesting (like from the Future Games/Bare Trees lineup, but that would probably be asking WAY too much)
Keep thinking positive chiliD. I agree, that's what I would wish for too on this one. Let's say "Hypnotized" by Bob Welch or Christine singing "Just Crazy Love" , "Spare Me A Little", or "Why", or Kirwan's rendition of "Station Man"!!
While I have your attention Steve, do you have any idea of what the setlists consisted of during this time period...say from 71-73? What could the "possibilities" be?
Thanks...again

I really have no idea, that "Future Games"/"Bare Trees" era, other than studio things, really are the "dark ages" as far as I'm concerned.
At least, just GUESSING (BIG TIME) here...my hypothetical set list from the "Bare Trees" tour:
Get Like You Used To Be
Station Man
Spare Me A Little
Sentimental Lady/Future Games
Jewel-Eyed Judy
Green Manalishi
Morning Rain
Sunny Side Of Heaven
Show Me A Smile
Child Of Mine
Black Magic Woman
Oh Well
Lay It All Down
Rattlesnake Shake
(encore)
Homeward Bound
Tell Me All The Things You Do
This is more of a WISH list, though...I don't have a CLUE what their set would've been around that time...that's why it intrigues me so much.
Here's the track listing(and a short one at that) for the "Vintage Years Live" set:
1. Black Magic Woman
2. Green Manalishi
3. Oh Well
4. Rattlesnake Shake
5. Got To Move
6. If You Let Me Love You
7. Only You
8. Madison Blues
Your hunch was right chiliD.....any further comments?! I am kind of curious about tracks 6 & 8 as I am not familiar with them.
Could there be a "live" performance of ANY of these songs not currently released? I guess what I'm really trying to ask is what was the point in releasing this cd?

It's probably "short" because Green Manalishi is probably 16+ minutes long and Rattlesnake Shake probably pushes close to a half-hour alone. So, there's 45 minutes of music in two tracks.
If I recall correctly, this is from the Fillmore West show in 1969...a "legitmate" (?!) release of a show that has been released previously as a bootleg.
As far as I know, this is the only release of "If You Let Me Love You". "Madison Blues" has been released before (not necessarily this performance, though)...on "Live At The Boston Tea Party" and the studio version is on the "Blues Jam At Chess" set.
Could be worth checking out after all!!

If this IS the Fillmore West show, YEAH! ...but it does seem coincedental that all of these tracks are also on the Tea Party comps so I won't get my hopes up for it being the Filmore gig. I would guess it's (some of...) the Tea Party stuff...again! However, if anyone does find out that these are from the Filmore show then PLEASE DO post about it here! :)
The only FM version of IYLMLY I know of (that has been released legally) is from the "Live in Boston - Remastered: Volume three" CD but Peter had recorded it in the studio with the Brunning Sunflower Blues Band for their "Trackside blues" album (if that's of any help). :)

No wonder...I rarely listen to volume three. Volume two is the one I gravitate to more often.
