I was thinking about this today. years from now..looking back
do you think stevie will get the respect she deserves? we on
this board are bias because we all know how awsome she is but
i'm talking about how history views people like janis and jim
morrison. they were only around for a very few years but here we are 30 years later and people still talk about them and most
importantly classic rock radio still plays their songs. which is great
but in my opinion stevie has done soooooooooo much more then
them. i'm not in any way disrespecting janis or jim at all. but if you
turn on any classic rock radio station and you never hear any of
stevie's solo songs. just what she has done with fleetwood mac.
which is again great..but still it's fleetwood mac..not stevie solo.
i just hope that stevie will get the respect she deserves from
the music world by writing and singing great songs. and not
from the way history views janis and jim. they became
legends not only from the music..but they aslo died in a bad way.

sad but most artists whether it be in music or the arts of any kind seem to get more recognition after they are dead....you sited Janis and Jim...but more recently you have Eva Cassidy who could barely get a record deal, then when she died so tragically young she got the break.......overnight she became world renowned and sold millions of albums.

As for Stevie well she has already made Encarta...hahahha...Stevie is very much part of Rock history she will not be forgotten quickly.......being one of the most 'charismatic' performers in Rock......she is indelibly stamped in the annals of time whether as part of FM or solo. Lack of Radio play does not take away a performers stature within the musicbiz.

I just wish she'd get respect now......Trouble in shangri-La was practically sniffed by the music industry, except for the grammy, which was the only award *attempted* to have been given to the album.....I know for a fact that once Stevie is gone she'll get the recognition she deserves.....until then, us Ledgies just have to keep on reminding the world the recognition Stevie truly deserves...

The "LEADER" of Fleetwood Mac.;):nod: Not to say that I COMPLETELY agree with this statement....not from like, say an "ARTIST" standpoint (because that would be LINDSEY),but from SOCIETY'S standards...let's face it here folks people aren't going to see the show for Lindsey's pretty little face:rolleyes: It's ALL her...it's the FIRST thing people think about when you mention FM.

LOL:lol:
