Deliberate Demos?

I was just listening to Lindsey's demos in the car today and thinking how lucky we are to get them...and then I thought...maybe they were leaked on purpose?

The reason I think this is possible is that a few months ago, before they were available online, they were being sold on Ebay (just, like, 5 of them) and the price was getting up to over $200 - I know, because I was one of the bidders. I get this Ebay notification that the owner of the copyright (Lindsey) shut down the auction. Unfortunately, this thing kept popping up.

Then, suddenly, all the demos (not just these few) are available for free to download! Sure, people are still selling them on Ebay, but I imagine they have a lot less customers now. Just a thought.

Does anybody know FOR A FACT where these mp3s of Lindsey "forthcoming" solo album came from???

If you think about it, it seems almost impossible for Lindsey a) not to know that they've been leaked all over the net and b) not to have WANTED them to be "leaked" all over the net.

Because........

These songs aren't just dictaphone cassette recordings of Lindsey strumming and humming....these are properly processed tracks which MUST have been put together in a studio(s). When they were finished, the master tracks and the multitracks are in formats which can't just be "plugged in" to a computer and suddenly turn them into mp3s....so some studio cleaner couldn't just have brought in his laptop with a built in portable modem and decided to have a laugh........these tracks would have had to have been probably converted into wav. format (and then mp3)....which I'm sure can't be a simple task....and then put onto AG, Kazaa, Napster...etc etc...or posted on some website......regardless...it just sounds really mysterious to me how TWENTY songs could ALL just be suddenly "leaked" onto the net...I mean I've heard of one or two songs sometimes being illegally removed from a demo tape...but 20...?!??!?!

Which brings me back to my original question....WHERE did these mp3s come from?????????

Lindsey...if you want us to hear you...release the album...! Believe me we'll buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:nod: :angel: :nod:

Money and selling records is not always
that important to a dedicated musician who
just wants his music to be heard by his fans!
Maybe Lindsey just Let his music be leaked...
he would NOT like it sold by un$crupulous ppl
on e-bay...this is not new...we discussed this

it was not meant to be...others did
the same thing with Lindsey's music
and I always wondered if he knew
about his GOS demo circulating?;)
It seems he is smart enough to do it
DELIBERATLY...tongue in cheek...maybe
to irriatate the Record Co! They did not
think his first musical offering for GOS
was commercial enough! Im Sorry too! Sky:)

I'm glad you brought it up. I was thinking the same thing, listening in the car in fact. :) I believe Lindsey allowed them to be leaked so that the people who want to hear it badly enough would find a way to get it. He knows those folks will pay money for the real album in a store, even if they get a full preview of it online. I'm sure he's been harrassed and bugged by many fans who are in agony waiting for his next album... And he has so many songs that are perfectly polished and ready for release, if not officially... And he knows they are good and he wants us to hear them! Anyway, that's what I think. He knows that some of his fans are willing to go to the ends of the world wide web to find some of his new music, and they may as well find something. :shrug::laugh:
