Since I am a HUGE Christine fan this is like picking your favorite children.....impossible. But as always, I never chicken out. For the record, I LOVE all Christine songs. My lists come from the top of my head and from my gut. I don't know how to limit it to 15 so off the top of my head in no particular order:

Come a little bit closer
Why
Just Crazy Love
Prove your love
Love in Store
Nights in Estoril
Brown Eyes
Songbird
The smile I live for
Ask Anybody
Warm Ways
Isn't it midnight
You make loving fun
Never Forget
Over and Over (live)

Completly understood. Narrowing it down to just fifteen is quite difficult. Very interesting list you put together.

Of course! Christine has ALWAYS written and sung excellent songs. I haven't heard any duds her entire career. She really has the knack for song writing. Her early Mac songs are some of the best and are the stand outs of those early Mac years. I actually have guilt because I did not include any songs from In The Meantime. I love every song on that album. I would not even know which one to pick. Warm Ways was a last minute addition because that day coming home from work I heard it on Sirius-Xm "The Bridge" channel. Its so soothing, so romantic and the perfect love song. To listen to how Mick plays the drums so softly and Lindsey on Guitar, and Stevie providing back up "ooooooooo" makes you melt and blush just listening to it. It would make the perfect first dance at a wedding song. Christine really writes amazing love songs but Warm Ways is probably her most gushing

Look at this gem I found on youtube. Makes you want to be in love :)

Alright, I'll give it a go--and I'll include some of her solo things:

1. Say You Love Me
2. Friend (acoustic version)
3. You Make Loving Fun
4. Forgiveness
5. Oh Daddy
6. Crazy 'Bout You Baby (live-in-studio version from Madison Blues, 1971)
7. Believe Me (Sausalito soundboard, 1974)
8. Why
9. Don't Stop (don't kill me: the original version of the song is dynamite)
10. Songbird
11. Over My Head
12. Brown Eyes ("Yesterday's Tears" version, 1978)
13. No Road Is the Right Road
14. I Want You
15. Get Like You Used to Be (live, Passaic, NJ 1975)

There are others. And if you get me on another day and I might substitute a few of these for "Smile I Live For," "Hollywood," "Remember Me," or "Warm Ways"...

As with Stevie and Lindsey, in order of brilliance IMHO:

1. Over and Over (like the song title goes, I could listen to this over and over, and have! To me, it's her best song)
2. You Make Loving Fun (her best hit, and overall pop tune, like Go Your Own Way, is timeless from start to finish).
3. Morning Rain (with Danny Kirwan's blistering guitar to her simple, but powerful lyrics, this early song was a sign of things to come, but also a great moment in her career).
4. Think About Me (should've been bigger than Don't Stop IMO)
5. Hold Me
6. Believe Me (3 me's in a row and wonderful me's they are).
7. Brown Eyes (hearing the new version, I think I like it even better).
8. Friend
9. Nights in Estoril
10. Behind the Mask ( a brilliant title track from a mediocre record)
11. Don't Stop
12. Isn't it Midnight (my favourite tune from Tango).
13. Honey Hi (simple, lush and beautiful)
14. Say You Love Me
15. Come a Little Bit Closer (toss up with Why, but this one wins.)

Bubbling Under: Why, Spare Me A Little, The Smile I Live For, Songbird (Why and Come a Little Bit Closer, I think are better songs), Get Like You Used to Be.

I love your list. I'm not sure I'd ever have thought to describe You Make Loving Fun as 'timeless' though. I'd say its definitely of its time- would certainly stand out as 70's today (of course it's still brilliant though).

Agreed. But certain live versions of it, especially THE DANCE one, transcend the 70s feel of the original. THE DANCE version really cooks, and without the lush studio effects to rely on, the band tap into a taut blues-pop energy that gives the live performances an incredible lift.

I agree. This is probably the only Mac song I wish they would have re-recorded with Stevie and Lindsey. Just imagine those amazing harmonies similar to those on Love in Store singing "Come a little bit closer" I think Lindsey could have added a few elements too.

YES !! GREAT IDEA !! Since they did a Buckingham/Nicks song ("Crystal") on the Fleetwood Mac White Album (1975), they should have RE-RECORDED "Come A Little Bit Closer" for the 1975 album. You're right, Stevie and Lindsey's harmonies would have taken the song to unimaginable places.

Flawless list! Over and Over is one of my all time favorites of Christine's.

It is beautiful and feels wrong that it's so low. Christine is the magic for me. I love all variations of this band. But when Chris is there, it feels special. It feels like home.
Which is a funny realization for me, cause when I was a kid it was Stevie. Then it was Lindsey. And then it was Mick and John, because it's always Mac as long as they're there. But now it's Christine.
