You can still get to the Nicks Fix by going to rockalittle.com - so I'm guessing nothing too exciting is happening lol

Bill Gamelson says that the Nicks Fix is down for good, & that Fleetwood Mac is wildly out of control & bleeding money & is shortly to quit the business.

I think it's about time the Nicks Fix went down for good.

I wonder what kind of jobs they'll get on the outside. Michele

I know you don't mean that. I mean, where will you go for your Stevie license plate sightings if the Nicks Fix went down?

Maybe he's finally managed to Convert her and it's being changed over to an Evangelical site - get ready guys, get down on your knees and start payin!

Really though, I personally suspect that this is just a server problem. The error message says,

"Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server."

To me that says that it's just some sort of problem with the Internet itself. I heard a few days ago that a few sites were having troubles.
(Nicksfix's problem started later than that, though - but still...)

P.S. - Perhaps we could take a SURVEY here on The Ledge and get people's opinions about Gamelson's accuracy in this matter - -
We'll see what it SAYS! :D

I would not expect a new updated site. Just think it is a technical issue regarding servers.
I got a 502 proxy error when trying to access the nicksfix.com URL.
Got this from a site explaining the error message.

Use of proxies and caching is increasing on the Web. Our CheckUpDown robot will always try to 'drill through' to the real computer that actually hosts your Web site, but we do not have complete control over where our HTTP request actually ends up. If only one link in the chain of computers dealing with our HTTP request is broken, then an error such as 502 can easily occur.

Think it also has to do with HTTP protocol and URL addresses, which would explain why www.rockalittle.com still works. Just my guess, by surfing the error message that I got.

I think you're absolutely right. The only litte "kink" in that for me, personally, is that rockalittle.com is so old that I could picture Kinney completely forgetting about it. But just the same, I think the "most likely explanation" is definitely that it's a server problem. Don't forget there's many "links in the chain" - - - there's usually not just one server involved, but several, or so I've heard. I would imagine some server computer had a huge blowup or something. Just picture some college intern in front of an open machine with pieces and parts all over the floor, calling his mom at 11 p.m. and saying "I don't think I can DO this!!! "

People still go to Nicksfix.com? I figure why bother. Stevie has stated in a million interviews that she hates the internet. So, my thought is that she will never take an interest in her own website and developing it into something engaging (or even revenue-generating).

That's awesome -

Chalk up ANOTHER marriage to Stevie and Fleetwood Mac.

We like to LIE about it to other people, telling them we met in some other chat. Makes most sence, because no kid my age (24) knows who they are anyways, nor do they know some person called Stevie Nicks (sad, isn't it).

The front hasn't changed since I've been online in '01....& at that time I thought it was gonna be the most informative web site...same with Mac.....what a disgrace for both of them. The artists themselves should have the 'best' web sites.....I guess they'll not ever learn. Heck 'they' don't have to do anything just hire the 'right' people.....so they get what they get.....& I don't feel sorry for them at all.....but thats IMO anyway......no offence.......there missing the 'boat' so to speak......how very sad.....in so many ways......

Well THIS doesn't look good. The "proxy error" message is gone, and it now just flat-out says "Under Construction." I wonder if there's some sort of money dispute going on or something? Anyway it looks pretty dead at the moment.

For those going into Nicksfix Withdrawals: ;)

http://www.rockalittle.com

That at least has the entire website "on record," up to August 14.
Except, unfortunately, for chat. :(

Assuming this really is goin' down - - -

A LITTLE heads-up would have been nice! :wavey:

I don't believe it's going to stay down. Stevie needs to have an official site, doesn't she?

I think she does...

I doubt it's a cost thing... That site is likely pretty cheap to maintain - it's not hosting a forum or needing excessive bandwidth or anything substantial.

Stevie will probably just use her Twitter account for updates. Maybe John is too busy with his family now. :D

It automatically re-directs to rockalittle.com now with this message on the website

Note: Thanks for your patience as we upgraded the web server for faster performance. You may have experienced intermittent connections over the weekend.

Wow, Nicks Fix is down. What a loss to humanity that is.

Seriously though, that website or should I say webshite is an embarrassment. Lindsey's is far superior.

I'm confused... So why does it have to redirect? Don't they own the nicksfix domain name any longer?

I'm sure they still own the other name, but they are probably keeping old stuff on that site and rather than removing it, they are redirecting you to the new. This site will redirect you from www.fleetwoodmac.net in the same way.

The Nicksfix is crap. It needs to either be overhauled or retired.
