Started listening to this sucker on vinyl and one thought is running through my head!!! These songs are so much faster!!! Now, is this just me, or is this possible, for the vinyl to be faster than the CD???

Depends on what speed you've got your turntable set at.

I have RAL on vinyl but I am in the process of getting a turntable now... I'm SO excited for one. I think it really highlights the experience of an entire album when you can't really skip ahead even if you want to.

I'm also hopefully getting a turntable! The only highlight of my grandparents moving out of the house that they've lived in for over 30 years and into an assited living apartment/nursing home is that I get a lot of old/vintage stuff that they forgot about. I'm really loving all of this jewelry I keep finding. They also have close to the 300 vinyls in their home. I've scoured all the stacks for FM albums, because my mom had all of them, but NONE of them are anything from artists from the past 30 years. And about half of the vinyls are Al Jolson. But atleast they have thy glorious turntable! (But it's stero... so I'll need something to play it on... I think...)

Oh and I found several half price book stores near my house! I'm superrr excited, so hopefully no Ledgies have cleaned out the ones near me! :D

I've recently got into vinyl. I found Rumours, Tusk and Bella Donna on ebay for quite good prices (£1.20, £4 and 99p).

I use my parents' turntable to listen to them, but I'm hoping to get my own soon.

I'm finding it IMPOSSIBLE to track down a decent, reasonably priced turntable. It's a nightmare! There are so many records and vinyl copies of FM and solo stuff I want (I have a lovely condition copy of Tusk and Rumours right now). I just can't justufy buying more if Ihave nothing to play them on though...I'm pushed for space in the flat as it is. I'dmake room for a turntable so I could start collecting though!

Back in those days we just lifted up the needle and lowered it onto the next groove.

here is the turntable I bought. The sound is pretty good and it doesn't take up much space. The price isn't that bad either.

I have all the main lp's of FM and Stevie and got them all on ebay. Most of the between $3-$7, good shape and they all play great!! I bought a record player/cd player/tape player/radio in a wooden case, real nice for $99.99 at target and also seen them at K-Mart as well. I love mine. :xoxo:

It's on the regular speed. The songs sound just a little faster, nothing terribly much so!

I have all the fleetwood mac stevie nicks solo records on vinly and cd i do have turntables too its been a while since i have listened to my vinly collection i remember the good old days and also cassettes too. well in the eighties they released records on vinly, cd and cassettes i want to say cd's came out in 1984 or 1985 i think not sure exactly so you had three formats you can get the record on i bough all formats...lol i loved the vinly its good to see people are still interested in it. I loved it back then i remember when cd's first came out to hear a crisp clear cd with no crackle from the vinly was awesome the crackle from the vinly was so used to hearing it on a record.

Ok... so I went to Half Price Books today... and all I found was a beat up Tusk for $8. Yeah no. But... I went next door to the music store and found oodles and gobs of used FM/Stevie records! I bought the White Album, Rumours, Tusk, Live, Mirage, WH, and Tango. My Stevie wall will be quite contented when (and if) I actually get it set up!

I remember when cds first came out, they sounded like crap, and the mini artwork sucks, you need an magnafind glass to see it. i was so pissed off. now I.m glad to see some artist are bringing back the vinyls. The digital age now with mp3's,flac's are great , but if the harddrive ,memory chip crashes and dies out ,your are dead in the water, your mp3's are gone forever,or less have a Data Recovery team to extract the data from the HD or the Memorystick for a kings ransom of approx $1500.00,if posible,Vinyl will be still here forever with the homey sound with some snap, crackle ,pop.

I mostly just gaze at The Ledge these days, but I love talking about vinyl...

If you're kinda new to it, what you'll find is that some of the records (Bella Donna, Wild Heart and Mirage in particular, since none of those have ever been remastered) sound AMAZING on vinyl, because they were created and mastered to be heard that way. In fact, you haven't heard Mirage until you've heard the record through headphones or a good set of speakers. The CD is crap.

Bella Donna is so in need of a remaster for CD, it's ridiculous. But it still sounds great on vinyl.

Happy hunting!
