Okay, so I've got Storms and Mick's book -- here are three more that I found on Stevie:
1. Read Between My Lines - Sandra Halliburton
2. Stevie Nicks: Rock's Mystical Lady - Edward Wincentsen
3. Lady of the Stars: Stevie Nicks - Edawrd Wincentsen
I'm just wondering if the content is accurate, interesting, etc. Even if they're not, would they still be a good thing to have in a Stevie collection?
Thanks for any input!

The Edward Wincentsen books are garbage! Not only are they factually inaccurate, they read like a seventh grade book report.

The Sandra Halliburton is absolutely dreadful, it's just a bunch of Stevie quotes she's taken from magazine articles over the years linked by her inept writing and insights. You'd do better reading the comprehensive Blue Letter archives of articles on this very site.
The Edward Wincentsen books are badly written too but at the very least they have lots of photos in them.

Wow that totally bums me out. So basically just Storms and Mick's book as far as accurate and stuff?
Thanks for the honesty! I think I'll skip those for now...

The Cath Caroll book on the making of Rumours is good too but it's less gossipy than the other two you mentioned.
There hasn't been a really good Stevie biography though, I think because she keeps those around her close and it's difficult to obtain interviews, and really, unless it's a first-hand account like Mick's or Carol Ann's, you need fresh interviews for a good biography. Cutting and pasting quotes like Sandra Halliburton or the Leah Furman Fleetwood Mac biography is just not good enough imo.
For a general biography of the band Bob Brunning's is one of the better ones, although there are inaccuracies in that too and you won't find much you don't already know in it.

^Agreed!
Thanks - I totally forgot about the Cath Caroll book. I'm getting that one for sure.
I've read 40 Years of Creative Chaos by Donald Brackett and I thought that was really good. It focuses more on the early FM, but it was still an enjoyable read. That was when I was a new fan still though so I'm not sure if it was 100% accurate.

I don't think either books get points for accuracy.

Of course you have to take Carol Ann's with a grain of salt. Obviously she wrote what she did to make money. While I think the baseline is true, I'm sure she fabricated as she went along to make it more interesting/controversial/what have you.
Honestly the best autobio I've read of a musician is Eric Clapton's. If he had a ghostwriter, I would have never known. I thought it was great.

The Ed W book 'Lady of the Stars' is so awful- i bought it circa 1994 via mail-order and read it for about an hour and threw it away, it really is 'ugly' in every possible way. I heard his other book is just as bad. Tore it in half by the spine I believe, and dumped coffee grounds and wet cat food over it and quickly brought the trash out to the dumpster. Didn't want it in my house. And yes, the book looks like xeroxed pages bound together, as well as the content being- creepy. That's about all I remember.
Yuck.

Do you have both of Mick's books?

Mick has two books?!
Mick has two books?!
Well, I have two. The first is "My Twenty-five Years in Fleetwood Mac," copyrighted 1992, 200 pages. It's hardcover, rather large, and has many photos, so it's more like a coffee table book. It comes with a cd that features "Don't Go, Please Stay" and "You Made a Hit", performed with Mick, John, Jeremy, and Danny. There is also a track narrated by Mick.
The second is titled "FLEETWOOD: My life and adventures in Fleetwood Mac," copyrighted 1990, 290 pages. It's just like any other paperback novel. It has a few pages of photos.
I got both from Amazon for a fairly cheap price. The hardcover is going for $7.92; the paperback for $9.97.

Good photos? If so, I'd definitely be interested in that.

Me likey that book!
I remember going into a book store and finding
that, and I had no idea it was out. It made my
heart skip a beat.
What about the book "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About
Stevie Nicks"? (the title is close to that). Can anyone post photos from
that out-of-print book?

I seriously need to buy some of these books. I ordered Storms from the library like 3 months ago... and I guess it never came in...? Oh well. I'll just buy it on Amazon or something haha.
You've read the Triad, right? There was a thread about it a while back. If you haven't read it yet, you should now! I read it at night and it totally freaked me out, but it was awesome! I got mine for really cheap on Amazon. The book itself is in perfect condition, and the dust jacket's a little beat up, but at least it's there!

Storms is interesting, to say the least. Carol Ann is obviously a biased narrator so her storytelling isn't exactly reliable. Either way, though, a very interesting read and I loved it for what it is worth.
And I've been DYING to read the Triad. I think that'll be my next read after I somehow conquer all the summer reading I've failed to do...

I read the little sample thing on Google. And I think you pretty much summed it up! Atleast from the portion of the book that I read, it sounded like 'Lindsey loved me, not Stevie. I'm so perfect. Blah blah blah.' But I won't know until I actually get my hands on it!
And yes, you HAVE to read Triad!!! It's so freaky and amazing! (And fairly confusing, haha.) Especially since you're such a fellow Rhiannon lover! I felt so weird reading it... thinking about how Stevie Nicks had read the same exact thing I was reading all those years ago... Chills! My friends all thought I was crazy, walking around with a book with a humanbirdeyething on the cover. I tried to convince some of them to read it... but they're too ignorant I guess! But I love them to shreds anyways. :D

Heck yes. Lots of big pictures. Literally every page has a picture. It's definitely worth it.

That's basically what it is. She makes herself sound like a victim to the rock world. It's fairly disgusting, but you get over it for all the interesting stories (or slightly stretched tales-- who knows?) that she tells.

Wasn't there something about how Stevie's dog got into some cocaine and is like, "Little Molly just od'd on blow"?

Yeah, there was something along those lines. I can't remember exactly what happened.
She definitely makes Stevie look like an idiot the entire time. I agree she has her hilarious moments but Carol makes her seem like she should just sit in a corner and never speak.
I am so getting that book by the way-- it looks awesome!

That's the book that taught me more about that era of Stevie than any of them. But the author actually did her own interviews -- a rarity among people who write books about Fleetwood Mac.

What book is this? Can you tell me the author and title and I will immediately try and grab a copy! A good Stevie biography is something I am waiting for. The others I've read that have already been mentioned on this thread are just awful so if this one is good then please, let me know!
I love biogrpahies, read a lot of them and, as someone who has become used to doing research and writing long pieces, I can really appreciate the work that goes into a well written, resarched and above all respectful biography (Carl Ann take note!
Hell, maybe I'll just make it my dream pet project when I finally finish my phD!
