Just thought id post this and see if anyone had any opinions. I came up with some ideas but nothing definite yet.....
quotes....
"Drowning in the sea of love, where everyone would love to drown.."
"Imagine all the ways to cope, I close my eyes that gives me hope, it cures the silence."
and something with using "Poet, priest of nothing, legend"
then i was thinking of getting the enchanted box set feather and signature.....
ideas are swirling in my head and i know i want one but not 100% sure what.
(definitely dont want the TISL dragon....lol)

I especially love the "Drowing in the sea of love where everyone would love to drown" and the feater/sig from the Enchanted package -- that'd be awesome!
Personally, if/when I get a tattoo - it's going to be probably on my wrist and will definitely say: "Dreams unwind, love's a state of mind" but that's just because those words ring very true to me.
You've got some good ideas going!! Does anyone have any Stevie tattoos that they wanna post a pic of?

That is EXACTLY what I want. The only thing I'm not so sure about is the location.... I've really wanted the wrist for quite some time but people are starting to talk me out of it.
I think I want a tiny crescent moon next to it, too.

I'm getting a tattoo a week from today! It's going to me the flower on the greatest hits album with a long vine. The flower will have green shading like the backround of the album has and the lyrics 'Dream on silly dreamer' along the vine. I'm really excited about it! I'll post pictures as soon as I get it done :)

Oooh, crescent moon! That'd be pretty.
I want "Dreams unwind," to be on top and then "love's a state of mind" under it but since mine would be going on the inside of my wrist, I don't think the second line ("love's a state of mind") would fit. I don't know, it might.
Then you've got to start thinking about what color font and what font...
I'm supppppppper white so I think either white ink (semi-invisible?) would look cool or a dark/navy blue. Font will be something cursive-y.
Hahaha I'm getting way ahead of myself...

I am a newbie and obviously don't have a Mac/Stevie tattoo but I did have my favorite verse from "The Severed Garden"/"Feast of Friends/American Prayer by Jim Morrison "Death makes angels of us all and gives us wings where we had shoulders smooth as ravens claws" tatooed right below my neck.

I'm getting my first the day I turn 18. It's a Tuesday. I'm so excited.
What are some other Stevie-reminiscent images (moons, the Enchanted feather, etc.)?
EDIT: The wild heart symbol. That would look awesome with my "dreams unwind" thing. But I need as mystical as I can get...

I've got "all the same all the same all the same" in black text across my shoulders, and I love it - it's fun watching people trying to read my back and then figure out wtf that's all about.
It will eventually turn into a full back piece with Rhiannon themes - the forest of black roses, with the black roses twining up some dark-colored trees and covering the "floor" (with a penguin hidden in there, of course) and the three birds, among some other stuff.
Alas, full back pieces takes many monies and I have none right now, but I dream on, silly dreamer. ;-)

on the bella donna album cover stevie is holding a tamborine...she once said that represented "looking through a port hole..choosing to look at life as an optomist..." something of that nature...look it up..it had VERY significant meaning...i think the tamborine w/a bird fllying through it and underneith it.." come in out of the darkness." will help keep me optomistic forever...research it a bit if u like this idea..i ahve been toying w/it for a decade but have yet to do it...good luck w/ur dicision..

Thank you! I want to do something Stevie-esque, but also kinda ambiguous enough to work in other elements if I decide to. I know for sure I don't want to go with a woman to represent Rhiannon, or a horse, so that leaves me a lot of room to play more, I think.
Also, Dani - if you end up doing the birds, I want pics, please!

I can't believe I'm actually reading that someone else wants a top hat tattoo!!!! Its always been my favorite Stevie accessory...which I, of course, refer to as top hat sex :p I told my boyfriend thats what I wanted and he look at me like I was insane. I'm so happy I'm not the only one.
So, the tattoos I plan on getting are
1) the top hat with the words "the poet in my heart" slightly curving around it
2) Gypsy on the inside of my wrist
3) If I could find a really nice phoenix tattoo...something small but very detailed...I would get that too
and if I could have any tattoo in the world, even though I know she would never in a million years agree to it, I would get Stevie to sign the inside of my other wrist and have it tattooed on...yeah, I know she hates that and would probably yell at me...but it would be worth it

there was a story like this~ it was during the bella donna tour & there was i think 3 girls who went to more than one show & one asked stevie to autographe her arm & she did, only for the girl to come back & show stevie she had it tattooed & stevie was pissed~ told the chick she should have never done that~

Also I want to get a mirror image of either "This will leave you haunted in your mirror" or "I'm going to back to the other side of the mirror" on my chest.
They would look something like this on my skin:
<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/?action=view¤t=Picture27-1.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/Picture27-1.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I have a flower on the outside of my achilles heel, like the very back of my foot, and thought I was going to die. So painful... I also have one on my shoulder and thought that one didnt hurt a bit.
Anyways: I dont know if it really counts, but my stevie tattoo is a dove on my wrist. Its by far the simplest one I have but I love it the most... I'm really thinking about one on my foot, but I'm not sure just where on the foot to get it. It's only a small Stevie reference (I have a much more detailed one on my hip), but I'm planning on a small oleander flower, a small snap dragon, and a small lily (as in, go ahead), possibly with a line from one of my other favorite artist's songs interwoven through my little garden. If anyone else can suggest a good location, I'd be happy to hear it. I want something easily hidden (I want to go into law), but I'd like to shy away from typical "tramp stamp" locations.

Is this tedious to the point that you regret the tat, or was it still worth it? That actually sounds pretty manageable to me.

Noooo. I would wear a watch to work anyways, and its never been something I considered tedious. I would say as long as you didnt get something obnoxiously large, you wouldnt regret it... Plus, one of my bosses has sleeves and he is remarkably successful so I dont think its a deal breaker...

I still want "dreams unwind, love's a state of mind" on the inside of my wrist, but since I'm not living in the real world yet, I don't want any issues in my future job interviews.
I'm also considering "dream on, silly dreamer..." and "lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice" and "don't blame it on me, blame it on my wild heart" and...
Okay guys, let's face it! There's too many Stevie lyrics I wanna put on my body :(
Hahaha

Last night I was talking to my parents about how I am getting one on my 18th birthday, no exceptions. They've been really against it forever, but last night my dad told me he wanted to get one with me on that day.
...I'm weirded out. I mean good for him, in his mid-50s glory and everything. I'm just confused !

That is weird. Not as weird as my 81 year old great-aunt telling me she almost got one a few years ago. One of her nieces almost talked her into it. That would have been hilarious.

Okay, over 75 beats my dad. But still.
It's just weird because its HIM.... and he wants to dedicate it to his father who died when he was only 22 and he says that his three favorite things were "guns, whiskey and poker". So my dad wants to get a gun shooting out three poker chips, each representing my sister, mother and I.
I'm even more weirded out.

& why is it dysfunctional to get a tattoo if you are over 17?~ do you guys think your generation invented it?~ or if you are over 17 does that mean a person is disgusting & well "old"?~

I think she's referring more to what my dad wants for his tattoo, not his age.... It is a little creepy hahahahaha

ya gotta remember tho, god willing someday you both will be 50 in all your glory w/ a stevie tattoo, unless you have it lasered~
& maybe i'm just being nostalgic & a little jealous, seeing as my dad died when i was 16 & he 37, so i would love to share a moment with him like that~
you know i am 41 & tattoos have come along way~ i have alot of male family members who are heavily tattooed~ & got along in life w/ jobs & such just fine~ but even in like 92 when i wrked in the offices for a grocer, women if they were tattooed had to be covered up or you couldn't wrk there, they were looked upon as trashy~ now you see all sorts of people from all types of life, professions have been tattooed & showing them~

I got a tattoo when I turned 18 =) It was AWESOME...lol..My mom came with me. Now my mom is saying how she and I should get tattoo's together so we can bond...lol My mom already has 3 tattoos. Now she wants a horse rearing up on her ankle(dont ask...lol). My best friend's dad wants to get a tattoo with me..lol Quite funny.
I have a few ideas for a new tattoo that I'm thinkin up.

hmm...let me get this straight...so he wants to get a gun that looks as though its shooting at 3 poker chips...and the poker chips are you, your sister, and your mother??? Are you sure he isn't just messing with you? :p

That's the sad thing. He's not even joking. He got really excited about it.
Hence why this is so weird to me.

you should post pics of your tattoo again, it's one of the prettiest stevie tattoos i have seen~
when i was at the omaha 'unleashed' show, there was a guy who came up to me & was admiring my tattoos & showed me that he had this pic:
http://i35.tinypic.com/2wq7oev.jpg
tattooed on his inner right forearm & it was stunning~
i would always like to see kat von d do a portrait of stevie nicks~ some of her wrk i don't think is as stellar as her show would like you to think it is, but her portraits are spot on & i think she could do stevie awesomely~
i was thinking of possibly getting a take on the rosary tattoo nicole ritchie has around her ankle & down her foot, but instead of a cross, having it done like a necklace & stevie's cresent moon dangling from it, real dainty w/ filagree & feminine~

That is the best news I've heard all day. I may be getting mine sooner rather than later...
I have one on my wrist (not Stevie related) and, of course, it doesn't feel good, but it definitely didn't hurt.

Yeah, Dani's right. On the bright side, my aunt wasn't thinking about poker chips and guns getting inked onto her for life. It was more like three hearts, or three doves, something like that.
um. excuse. me.
Could you imagine my aunt Carm with a tattoo of anything but cannoli?

I can't believe I'm actually reading that someone else wants a top hat tattoo!!!! Its always been my favorite Stevie accessory...which I, of course, refer to as top hat sex :p I told my boyfriend thats what I wanted and he look at me like I was insane. I'm so happy I'm not the only one.
So, the tattoos I plan on getting are
1) the top hat with the words "the poet in my heart" slightly curving around it
2) Gypsy on the inside of my wrist
3) If I could find a really nice phoenix tattoo...something small but very detailed...I would get that too
and if I could have any tattoo in the world, even though I know she would never in a million years agree to it, I would get Stevie to sign the inside of my other wrist and have it tattooed on...yeah, I know she hates that and would probably yell at me...but it would be worth it
 omg i thought everyone wanted a top hat
but i suppose most people opt for a tambo/flying heart thing
i like my own thing
and coz i dont wear hats, and i LOVE the top hat [esp with the SA reference] it's always been on my list to do
ur never-in-a-million-years tattoo is what i want too lol
i wouldnt TELL her i was going to have it tattooed tho... :p
I want to get "Rock A Little" on my wrist.
Also I want to get a mirror image of either "This will leave you haunted in your mirror" or "I'm going to back to the other side of the mirror" on my chest.
They would look something like this on my skin:
<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/?action=view¤t=Picture27-1.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/Picture27-1.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/?action=view¤t=Picture28.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/Picture28.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
But when seen in a mirror they would appear like this:
<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/?action=view¤t=Picture29-1.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/Picture29-1.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/?action=view¤t=Picture30-1.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/jdi226/Picture30-1.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
OMGGGGGGGGGGG
we i went to get my wrist done
i was initally going to get MIRROR written backwards lol
i thought it was the coolest thing ever
but opted for SA instead
woah, if you get yours done for real i'd love to see them
FYI getting your wrist tattooed does NOT hurt. i have both of my wrists done. whichever hand you write with will hurt less, because your nerves are pretty much desensitized to touch and being banged around. it hurts a little, but compared to having your ankles done....a mere pin prick. my mom has her gut done and she said it hurt worse than having a baby.....
