Shag perm Stevie! My favourite hairstyle she's ever had actually, but I hated it during the "Tango in the Night" VHS where it looks like it's going to eat her head. Volumised but under control is when I think it looks the best. ;)

I also loved when she put the blue/green streak in her hair. My hair was cut like this for a while, I loved it. This picture tempts me to get it cut back like that.

The way she did her hair during her Soundstage concert was pure perfection.

I've never been able to find a picture of it on the 'net, but back in 2001 when Stevie was VH1's Artist of the Month, they showed a brief clip of her with black streaks in her hair and she was wearing this tremendously chunky crystal necklace. I think it's about the favorite look for her I've ever seen. Very witchy and bohemian.

i so love her hair in that pic. its like she just woke up like that. good stuff. what is funny is that i just got my haircut and the girl cut it just like that except that i usually wear it straight. i gotta curl it some to see if i can replicate that style. i have brown hair but have been blonde numerous times and was thinking of at least getting highlights again.

When I got mine cut like that I just used to twist the straightners to make it wavier. And it went exactly like that, it was brilliant.

& a little trick my lovely gay hairdresser (he worshipped stevie) taught me was to scrunch wet hair w/ a good quality paper towel~ it removes excess water that weighs hair down, but their is something in the fibers of say a bounty & or viva paper towel that helps even the straightest hair get the slight waves like stevie's shag~ it's totally weird

he taught me this in the 80's & when i do my hair i still use this trick to this day, wrks everytime~

Does it work with curly hair? My hair's ringlety. I forgot to mention that when I do that with the straighteners I've made it straight first.
