Barbecue, concert Aug. 23 in VC VIRGINIA CITY — A concert and barbecue are planned Sunday, Aug. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bale of Hay Saloon. Proceeds go to buy a fire retardant system to save Virginia City buildings in the event of a fire.
The event is sponsored by the fire department auxiliary.
Singer and guitarist Dave Walker, originally from England and famous for playing with Savoy Brown and Fleetwood Mac, will team up, for the first time together, with composer and jazz pianist Steve Hulse.
