These seem to be the official lyrics (taken off the Penguin discography and other lyrics sites - believe me I've just looked at about 20 of them), although I'd be interested in seeing if other people agree they are wrong?
Oh I slept in a derelict
And I ate off the floor
I was wrapped in a blanket
As a knock came on the door
You can get out of here
Said a man in a raincoat
So I moved in with you and you loved me
Took a trip down the highway
And I spoke with my folks
It's a serious business
And there's no time for jokes
You can get out of here
Said a middle aged lady
So I moved in with you, and you loved me
Yes you loved, you loved me
There was so much at stake
Too much confusion
I'd had all I could take
No more get out of heres
From a man in a raincoat
Cause I moved in with you, and you loved me
Firstly he does not say "As a knock came on the door" he says "there's a knock on the door". The word "came" doesn't seem to feature.
Secondly does anyone else think he says "You love me" not "you loved me"? At no point do I hear a "d" sound on the end of the word.
Thanks

You're not the only one in the DW fan club! :)
Anyways, I don't know if "official" lyrics were ever released, they weren't included with the original vinyl and of course, they're not in the CD edition either. I think the lyrics in the discography were just pasted over from the old lyrics section of the Penguin and I don't know/can't remember who submitted those (in fact I think those must have been posted on this site before I even had web access). By all means though, if you guys can agree on the way they should read, put something together here and I'll repaste them in the discog. :)
