I'm shocked, horrified and mentally scarred. I just discovered The Rotters song "Sit On My Face Stevie Nicks" Has anyone else heard this? Warning...this is just a little bit adult... (you could probably tell by the song title anyway)

When, where, what and most importantly why?

  :distress:

I'm not surprised...

I wasn't even searching for that, was actually searching for info on Donovan's Brain (of which another Mac member Dave Walker was in) and just saw a link.

Seems like they were trying to offend as many people as possible with song titles like "Amputee", "I want to be the Feuhrer" and "Sink the Whales Buy Japanese Goods" and "Please Don't Send Me to the Delousing Showers". Lovely...

So I'm guessing then that "Sit on my Face" must have been their attempt at a love song?

I own 2 copies of the 45. "Amputee" is the B-side. I thought they were from LA? At least, the song was popular in LA cuz Rodney was playing it, until Mick's lawyers got involved...

On the sleeve: Rotten Records/Thanks to Rodney Bingenheimer and Richard Simpson/No thanks to F******* M**

Vocals: Nigel Nitro

I found it...then forgot about it. A few weeks ago, I was in the car with my parents and I had my iPod plugged in on Shuffle. It came on. Awkward.

I love the whole pop culture aspect of it. Mick & Co. are at the pinnacle of fame and maybe being a little ostentatious in making a big deal about the song and threatening legal action to get it stopped being played. I understand where they were coming from, but in hindsight I wonder if they can see the twisted humor in it. And more importantly, if they can appreciate that at that moment they were so big that basically punk music was in direct response to them (or more realistically it was in response to "corporate rock" , which they were the posterchild and epitomy of).
