This is just an excerpt from a longer interview, but I don't remember the quote before, so I thought I'd post.

Stevie Nicks Rules Out Autobiography

Nicks admits she's been approached to chart her life on the big screen and in books, but the singer is convinced she has much more rocking to do before her story can be told.

Friday, March 20, 2009

Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks has ruled out plans to write an autobiography - because she is still rocking at the age of 60.

The singer has enjoyed an extensive solo career in addition to her tenure with the Landslide rockers, who began their latest world tour earlier this month.

Nicks admits she's been approached to chart her life on the big screen and in books, but the singer is convinced she has much more rocking to do before her story can be told.

She tells the New York Daily News, "I could certainly write the story of my life, and do it well, and people have approached me about doing a movie, but I'm not ready because I don't think my story is over."

Someone needs to make sure to send a memo to Lindsay Lohan. She still believes she is playing Stevie in the movie. :D

She seems to think an autobiography necessarily has a funereal aspect to it.

Yes. There are people in their twenties (and younger) who have done autobiographies. Well, maybe she plans to live it up in the next 25 years and she will want to document that as well and is just sparing herself (and her ghostwriter) the trouble of writing two autobiographies.

She could always get started now and write as she goes along. She won't be able to write the story of her life once she is dead...

Doesn't seem like Stevie to write a tell-all, but since she's so hesitant to publish such a thing until she's "done" rockin'... I cannot help but think that she intends to include enough tastiness that somebody will be offended because that always seems to happen...which could very well spell the end of her career as she knows it.

I just hope she doesn't write it, change all the names and we'll be arguing for 35 years whether she was talking about Lindsey, Don, Mick, Jimmy, Paul, Joe, etc. etc. etc. ...

I don't think she'd write anything to destroy the band either. The time to have done that would have been between Tango and Timespace. She's obviously enjoying her musical career right now and doesn't want to take the chance of offending anyone in her circle by writing about them and then getting dissed. I think she will write a book and it will contain tasty bits of scandal. After Mick's book, she's probably not taking any chances of pissing anyone off until she's ready to retire.

LOL, I don't wanna be reading it and asking myself who the heck she is really talking about, I better be able to know which of the many men she means.... mainly Lindsey.

If it's in your plans, Stevie, do it before it's too late. You may release "My autobiography vol.1" if your story is not over

This is not the first time I read about it. Years ago, I read that she said (though don't know if the source was reliable) something like "I will write my biography when my friends' wives won't care about what I write about them". ;)

From Yahoo: Same piece, but they added a little bit about the possibility of touring with Sheryl.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/35/20090323/tmusic-stevie-nicks-sheryl-shows-716af92.html

Stevie Nicks is still hoping to tour with Sheryl Crow.

The legendary singer is confident she will one day go on the road with her close friend even though Crow dropped out of appearing on the current Fleetwood Mac tour because of time constraints.

She said: "Sheryl and I not only work together well, but we're really good friends. If we ever wanted to go out and do a really cool, folky little rock 'n' roll tour together, we could totally do it. We have the songs."

Although the 60-year-old singer-songwriter is happy to consider touring with Crow, she has ruled out having her life recorded in a book or movie just yet.

Nicks added: "I could certainly write the story of my life, and do it well. People have approached me about doing a movie, but I'm not ready because I don't think my story is over."

Stevie's life story is already written ... in her beautiful songs.
