Hi everybody,
well, I don't want to be one of these picky persons but there's something I really like to say.
Since a couple of years (or longer?) I've noticed that Mr. Nicks seems to be too good to send Christmas greetings to her fans or wishes them all the best for the New Year.
But the fans can send Greetings to her?????
I doubt that an artist needs the OK from the music company to send any messages or greetings to their fans and to be honest don't we fans deserves this??
I've seen Christmas Greetings and Best wishes for the New Year at other websites that famous artists did send to their fans and I'm a bit disappointed to see that Mrs. Nicks doesn't care.
I didn't send her Greetings this time....there was nothing I had to say....

I doubt Stevie has ever visited her own official website to be quite honest- after all she probably doesn't own a computer -, and does she actually receive those greetings that are sent through the form?, but there could at least have been a greeting from the webmaster.

I do think Stevie has at some point at least thought of her official sight. She has posted journal entries, and things like that... although not for many many years.

Yes, that's true. The "Ask Stevie" page hasn't been updated in a long time either. ... but then she has been very busy in the recent years and her music is probably more important to her than the website.

I would try not to take it personally. Stevie has never been the type to be consistently involved in any type of online marketing. Perhaps she sees her continued touring as a way to thank her fans and wish them well. I doubt she thinks she is too good for us; maybe too busy or just not computer savvy enough to know she has a legion of fans that talk about her online. :)

I completely agree with that.

That's just it, Stevie has WAY more things to do than go online. Last I knew she didn't go online at all. She has little if nothing to do with the website, the only stuff that goes there is what her management releases to it. The site was far better when it was just a fan site.
Stevie is very old school. I honestly don't think she is even remotely aware of her status on the Internet. She sees the fans at the shows and that's is what she is aware of.

What if Stevie did a video journal? She used to use her diaries to write songs and maybe she still does. But since she's not releasing those songs anymore, just do her journal in front of the camera and let us make up the songs for her. Michele

That's just it, Stevie has WAY more things to do than go online. Wait, you mean like work at the office from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, buy groceries, clean the kitchens & bathrooms, do the laundry, gas up the car, run to the Post Office, get the kids to school/soccer/Cub Scouts, get the checkbook out & pay the week's bills, & get the trash cans to the curbside for pickup?
Last I knew she didn't go online at all. She has little if nothing to do with the website, the only stuff that goes there is what her management releases to it. She used to tell her staff -- & maybe she still does, for all I know -- that she hated the Internet.
The site was far better when it was just a fan site. Yep. That was because, back then, the information & features on it were submitted by fans.
Any pop singer's Web site that cuts back or cuts off contributions from fans is going to fail in practical, artistic, & probably even commercial terms. Such a site is destined to turn into a desert of vacuous public-relations pablum.

Like Perez Hilton's site. I swear now it's nothing but a mouthpiece for all the industry PR people, masquerading as cutting edge industry gossip. Years ago, it was much more subversive and interesting.

I used to send her greetings for Christmas & B-day but last yr I gave that up.....got tired of and .....well I doubt she even gets it and even if she does heck she can't be bothered with reading all of that stuff.....sad but true. Her web site is a total joke period I hardly ever go there.....fan sites are better. Stevie could use the Net to her advantage and she doesn't have to do anything with it....thats why she pays all those employee's for.....to do all of that stuff for her......she missing out on alot of stuff though.....as are us her fans too....IMO anyway.....

I often wonder how I would be with fan mail / contact with fans if I became famous (for whatever reason).
On one hand, as a fan, I think "Dammit, if someone has taken the time to sit down and write to me to let me know how much they appreciate and enjoy what I'm doing, what a compliment that is! They deserve their letter to be read and acknowledged, just as common courtesy."
But on the other hand, of course, what happens when the pile of letters grows and grows...? It's hard to call it.
What would you do?

I guess because I am an old person ;) I don't come from the experience of having any interaction with a famous person, as a fan. I remember as a kid, you could write to your favorite famous person's fan club and get an autographed picture or something mailed back to you. But as far as acknowledgement from a celebrity goes, I've always looked at the continued touring, new music, movies, whatever, as the "thank you".

Uhm - - - to be honest? i.m.o. - - no!
I think she's made some great music and I've been very happy to purchase it.
I also think she's also very nice to pay for the Nicksfix in the first place - which, ultimately, she IS doing. (Through "her people," of course.)
Christmas Greetings? OWED to someone? I don't think so. And I don't believe there's any other stars who have EVER done this, at least not in a consistent way.
Like someone else once said so well, "Stevie owes us NOTHING."

Well I'm sure whom Stevie employes doesn't work for 'free'.....she used to state in interviews that she (at one time/before she'd quit Fmac after Mask) that she had employees for her solo career and employee's for her Fmac career.....now whether these are the same employee's who knows.....I recall this interview I believe during Mirror.....if she stopped on side that she'd have to let them go and she didn't want to let them go. I was stating that she had employee's to do all the Internet things for her....since well she hates the Net or so she states that she does. But with Stevie who really knows but only her. She does say alot in interviews that she doesn't even recall saying over the yrs. So I'm sure whomever she does employ isn't working for 'free' .....would you? You have to make a living somehow..........Just some thoughts......
