She's singing -- and dancing -- The Twist, and is that actually Chubby Checker she's singing with? Is he still alive/performing/twisting?
This little gem just makes my day!

Yeah, it was really Chubby Checker she was singing "The Twist" with! This is from the Penguin:
Mick and Sara were married under a marquee outside their house in Malibu on April 24, 1988; attendees included Christine McVie, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, George Harrison, Ali McGraw, Dick Clark, Dave Mason, Billy Burnette, Jeff Lynne, Chubby Checker, and Rick Vito. As a pleasant surprise, Lindsey Buckingham also came, "I thought it was a good time to break the ice. I hadn't seen anyone since we'd had a little confrontation at Christine's house some months previously, when all of the touring stuff was being thrown back and forth. It was an ugly scene for a short time." John McVie was the best man and Mick described the wedding as "a definite ding-dong bash !"
Oh, to be a fly on those walls.....

Oh yes it was very cool! Thanks for posting, it's good to see Mac member in a spontaneous attitude. I enjoyed Stevie singing blues, though I didn't like her look, didn't like her dress, didn't like her hat, and.. didn't like her eyes. Well 1988 was not one of the best years in Stevie's life. She was moving from cocaine to klonopin, so logically she was not in her best shape.
Christine did look gorgeous! But I couldn't find Lindsey, and Mick wrote in his book he went to his wedding, finally becoming friend again with Fleetwood Mac members. MAybe he was only at the ceremony.

The Starck Club in Dallas, I don't think it was a very big succes on Stevie's part but I'm sure other people have more info on that. One fan attended the opening night concert (Grace Jones, Stevie, perhaps others) & I asked him several times online whether he had a tape. He never really said one way or another. But he did print a review in the newsletter for the 1992 fan gathering in Texas. Stevie did her full Wild Heart set with her full Wild Heart band. It would have been awesome!

The Starck Club , long considered Dallas' premier dance spot and a magnet for the superhip, is expected to go out of business Wednesday, a club official said Tuesday.
The club, at 703 McKinney Avenue, will be subleased to a Chicago-based company, said Greg McCone, Starck's general manager. He said negotiations have been under way for several weeks between Heartthrob Inc. of Chicago and Woodcor, the company that leases the club.
"It appears they're going to work this thing out and get it signed by noon Wednesday,' Mr. McCone said. "They (Heartthrob) should be in here Thursday.'
An official of Heartthrob, which also operates the Tijuana Yacht Club and the Urban Lounge in Dallas, declined to comment Tuesday, but Mr. McCone said he expects the group to use the space for a club closer in style to nearby Dallas Alley, whose clubs draw large crowds every weekend but are considered too mainstream by most Starck Club patrons.
"They may try to retain the Starck style but be more competitive with the West End by marketing to a broader public,' Mr. McCone said. "They will not get to use the Starck name.'
Rumors had circulated for months that the club, which marked its fifth anniversary two weeks ago, would close -- a victim of tough economic times and of hanging on too long in an industry in which most nightclubs run their course in about two years.
Mr. McCone said the club has not operated in the red. "We've waited out the economy and probably could wait some more,' he said. "But we are in a situation where the lease will run out in 1993. If we are going to sell it, now is the time.'
The Starck Club, designed by well-known French designer Philippe Starck, began its long run with a grand opening party May 12, 1984.
The Gatsbyesque bash drew everybody from society mavens to drag queens, many showing up in Rolls-Royces and limousines. The rich and famous included Knots Landing star Donna Mills, rock star Little Steven, singer Grace Jones and Fleetwood Mac vocalist Stevie Nicks, one of the club's investors.
After a slow start, the nitery became the place to be -- a second home for fashion-forward "Starck regulars' and a famous attraction.
On Aug. 8, 1986, the club suffered its most publicized setback. About 40 police officers raided the club, arresting about 50 people and seizing more than $9,000 worth of drugs. The city banned dancing at Starck for two weeks and reportedly exacted a whopping fine.
But regulars put their dancing shoes back on after that, and the club has pressed on for almost three more years.

STARCK CLUB RAIDED: Drugs seized, 36 are arrested
The Dallas Morning News (DAL) + _____
Eliot Kleinberg
Dallas police arrested 36 people early Friday and seized drugs with a street value of about $9,200 in a raid at the popular Starck Club , officials said.
The raid at the club, at 703 McKinney Ave., followed a six-month investigation that was sparked by numerous complaints from patrons that drugs were being sold and used openly, police said. Authorities said within the past two months they were getting about 20 complaints each week.
"It's probably the No. 1 open drug bar in Dallas,' vice division Capt. G.G. Parker said.
He said the arrests were the most in a raid of a Dallas club in several years. Parker said he will decide in the next several days whether to ask Dallas Police Chief Billy Prince to recommend that Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission authorities close the club.
"We'll definitely ask him (Prince) to take some kind of action,' Parker said.
The action could include asking the city of Dallas to revoke the club's dancing license, Parker said. A spokesman for the club declined to comment.
The club, named for its French designer Philippe Starck, opened two years ago following some of the most intense pre-opening publicity a Dallas nightclub ever has received. Among its 17 investors were rock star Stevie Nicks, who kicked off the nightclub's 1984 opening party with exotic disco queen Grace Jones.
A year after the opening, crowds were lining up at the door to pay a $10 cover charge to enter. Club management reportedly turned away many guests they felt did not fit the club's style.
Starck Club's patrons have included rock stars and transvestites, stock brokers and waitresses. The unofficial dress code ranges from trendy and flashy to sophisticated and funky.
About 42 vice detectives, patrol officers and tactical officers, raided the club about 1:20 a.m. Friday, Parker said. They seized cocaine, marijuana and narcotics and found various other drugs on the floor, which they believe were thrown down by some of the club's 350 patrons. It took officers 20 minutes to secure the club and separate suspects from other customers, Parker said.
"The floor of that place looked like a pharmacy,' he said. "A lot of people made a mad dash to the bathrooms, so there's no telling what went down the toilet.'
Parker said undercover officers -- who entered the club hours before the raid to detect illegal activity and point out suspects to raiding officers -- reported seeing patrons and employees both dealing and using drugs.
"This particular night, a lot of the dealing and use was done in the bathrooms,' Parker said. "I've had (undercover) officers in there before, standing at the bar, when somebody comes up and does a deal right in front of them.'
Vice division Sgt. Bill Turnage said the complaints that led to the raid came from "professional people that were amazed at the openness of the drugs in the club.'
Police seized 274 tablets of the designer drug Ecstasy, with a street value of about $6,850, along with 12 tablets of the prescription pain killer Dilaudid -- often used as a heroin substitute -- worth about $600, Turnage said.
He said eight doses of LSD, worth about $80, were seized, as well as 13 1/2 grams of cocaine, worth about $1,700, and five grams of marijuana worth about $2. Turnage said small amounts of various prescription drugs were also found.
Dallas police have conducted several drug raids on area nightclubs in the past year, most of them stemming from patron complaints, Turnage said.
"We're not a large enough organization where we can police all the clubs all the time, so we work basically on tips and complaints from citizens and informants,' he said.
Three patrons and an employee were arrested on outstanding felony arrest warrants for delivery of narcotics, officials said. The four, who were being held Friday at Lew Sterrett Justice Center, are identified as John Thomas Anderson, 29, $10,000 bond; Edward Joseph Klaeger, 20, $15,000 bond; Samuel Lee Neither, 24, $30,500 bond; and Kelvin Lloyd Johnson, 20, $13,500 bond.
Police said the four warrants were among 15 -- six for employees -- issued after vice officers had previously visited the bar.
Fifteen people were charged with felony narcotics possession, police said. Among those charged was the club's night manager, Ricky Lee Hall, 26, who was charged after a U.S. Customs Service drug-sniffing dog found tablets of the designer drug Ecstasy in Hall's briefcase in the club office, Parker said.
Hall was also charged with violating state alcohol regulations by allowing intoxicated persons to remain on the premises -- a misdemeanor, police said. He was released Friday after posting a total of $5,200 in bonds.
All of the other 14 were released Friday after posting the bonds. They were identified as Tamra Anne Robinson, 18, $2,500 bond; Kevin Balazik, 22, $1,500; Gary Lynn Garrison, 21, $5,000; Frank Edward Morrone, 20, $3,700; Jeanine Kala Pierce, 20, $200; Bryant Markham Spradley, 25, $2,500; Timothy Patrick Black, 21, $2,500; Steven Choice McClure 20, $2,500; Edith Renee Brown, 21, $2,500; Lauren T. Heisner, 20, $200; Steven Mark Counts, 24, $1,500; and Christopher S. Solberg, 25, $1,500; Neil Patrick Moore, 23, $2,500; and Andrew Errk Haugen, 32, $200.
Another 17 people, one of whom was an employee, were arrested for public intoxication, police said. They were all released Friday. Staff writer Russell Smith contributed to this report.

I used to live in Ft.Worth Texas, and still have family and friends there... But when I lived there in the 90's, several people I met, once they found out I am a Stevie fan... would tell me things about Stevie and Grace Jones owning the 'Starck' club in Dallas... But I never believed them... Hah, guess it was true after all... Stevie & Grace Jones, now that's the oddest match I have ever heard... LOL!!!

That's it? What a bullshit bust. I have to remember that this was the Reagan era and the farce that was "Just say no." The war on drugs = miserable failure. I'm sure Dallas was in grave danger by this handful of club kids and their 274 tabs of X.

Lindsey looks absolutely gorgeous in that photo from the wedding. ;)
Stevie looks pretty awful. I hate the days of the big shoulder pads, huge crosses and icky hair. That photo reminds me so much of how I felt seeing Stevie on the Mirror tour....she was just soooo different from WH Stevie. :o

Dave looks sooo much like John McVie, I always thought. I would have sworn it was John if I hadn't of seen what John was wearing to the wedding.
