Stevie is an emotional, pie-throwing mess but I still like these pics.

Well, I have to admit I kind of like that dress. ;) :p

By the way, can I use some of the photos to create LJ icons?

that was some ... tour, I'll tell ya.

I like those shots of Stevie & Sharon dancing. Remember when the whole band started dancing during the instrumental intro to EDGE OF 17? It was beyond dorky; it was in a realm of its own.

Speaking of dorky, does anyone else remember the dance-to-the-music daisies/flower pots that were all over the amps and around the stage?

Too much wardrobe...:distress:

She was trying to hide under big hair and big clothes. Those things just make u look big! Still, even with all that, she's stunning.

I found her performance in Mansfield, MA on this tour uninspired at best. She was so wooden. I was heartbroken, I had no idea she'd given up the dancing, her range, and being the force that she'd been. We now know it was the klonopin and I am so glad that she stopped taking it.

I was at night 'one' of the Mansfield deuce and I totally agree. I heard night 'two' was a bit better. I was so bummed after night one that I decided to skip night two.

Did you go to both nights at Mansfield? I agree with you as far as the first night, but the second night, I thought she was really into it. She moved a lot and I remember thinking how great her voice sounded compared to when I saw her in Hartford and New Haven on the RAL tour.

OMG what the ...? Well it was the 80s. But the white granny turn of the century hat witht the veil? Oh boy!

This was the periosd when it was soooooo uncool to say you liked or were a fan of Nicks. I can remember telling a couple of people in college at the time I was a fan and they were like no way I hate her.

All the media was on her case too at that time.

Stevie was sometimes resembling Miss Havisham in this period, and this is a good example.

Stevie was sometimes resembling Miss Havisham in this period, and this is a good example.Well, she always prattled on about how her ideas for stage character came from Dickens -- or her notion of Dickens, to be more accurate (which she was pleased to call Dickensian).

I always wondered how Stevie pronounced Dickensian -- according to Fowler, it's Di-KEN-zee-uhn.

Has Stevie ever said "Beethovenian"?

Bay-toe-VIN-ee-uhn.

In 1989, I saw Stevie play Cal Expo & Mountain View. I was supposed to go to Concord, too, but as you all know, that was nixed because of the earthquake (moment magnitude 6.9 of the strike-slip variety).

I really didn't much like those days of Stevie Nicks, but at the time I was I will admit kind of fascinated by the bewilderingly punctilious arrangements the band created. The Stevie Nicks rock concert approach of the previous seven years had turned into a sort of Vegas "show" with orchestrated production. Maybe it was the era, but that was the year, pace Lindsey Buckingham, she truly turned lounge act.

Those are some of the most hideous outfits I've ever seen in my life, but I like the pictures where her hair is just... normal (i.e. Rumours-esque hair) and she looks like she's having a meltdown with the candle.

It was the tour of kooky arrangements, very synth-y which I guess wasn't all that odd for the times. But when I listen to it now it doesn't stand up all that well. And wasn't this the tour with the horns?

Oh! That's right. I wonder whatever became of him? The Peter Michael era wasn't Stevie's best. They were not a good fit for each other musically. Although I did like some of his percussion work on Street Angel.

I've never had issues with the hosting site, the thumbnail usually links me directly to the pic, sometimes there's an ad before it. I will look for another host but Pictiger isn't working for me either.
