This one is harder than I thought it would be, actually. But I think Sister Honey should be the first to go.
Talk to Me is the only one I really skip, and I think it's probably the most annoying song Stevie ever recorded, but I'm not expecting it to head out for a little while...

I agree. It was a radio hit at the time so it will probably have staying power on this face off. But, never a favorite of mine at all.

This is probably my least favourite Stevie album. Except Rock A Little which I've always liked (and I don't mind HAEWAFY)
Lets wave goodbye to Imperial Hotel first though.

Sister Honey's the shizz.
I actually like this album a lot, even though I rarely listen to it. I voted for I Can't Wait....for it to be over.
Yeah tacky, but I really don't like this one.
ISFTT will probably go first though. I could have voted for that too. I wish she would have put the uptempo outtake on instead.

and I think most of the songs are pretty up to par. However, The Nightmare is a nightmare. It needs to go. I cant believe anyone would vote for I Sing for the Things. Great unique song with a great sentiment.

I Sing for the Things.
Lyrically, she lined up all her favorite cliches.
Vocally, she sounds distressingly frail. The whole thing should have been stripped down to bare bones (ala Johnny Cash covering NIN's Hurt) when the vocal sounds that damaged.
I love the RAL era, but I'd love to hear this album re-recorded without the clunky drum programming, dated keyboards, and sorry, some really awful background vocals from the girls. The whole thing needs to sound more organic. I think the arrangement, additional lyrics and "I thought that there was a connection" coda on HAEW (Live at Red Rocks) is vastly superior to what's on the album.

and that's actually what I always loved about this song, how fragile and vulnerable she sounded on it. I agree though, that some of the ladies' vocals could have been better. Sharon sounds shrieky on some of the songs.
But don't you just love Bobbye Hall's tambo on 'Imperial Hotel'?

Now, Some Become Strangers, is the only song that one of them didn't write that I actually support in every way.

I personally hate most of Rock a Little, so this is going to be hard for me! I think all the demos and alternate takes are much better than what actually made the cut.

ISFTT.... I don't really like Stevie's babyish vocal....

I'll simply be voting from Track 1 thru to track 11.
This is a cheezy album and my least favorite, yes I prefer even Street Angel to this drivel.
Anything Rick Nowels touches is a guaranteed crap-fest.

RAL isn't my favorite LP by any means ....it could've been a much better LP (maybe if it had stayed Mirror, Mirror it would've been 200% better....) I can tolerate some songs but most of what I like are the outtakes/demos/extended versions and the songs that didn't make it to RAL.....I could keep going really.....I voted this time for Sister Honey cause to me its a totally pointless track and a pointless song really....(next will be Imperial Hotel...another pointless song) these are both 'filler' songs which is said with the wealth of material she had in recording this LP /the producers (many that there were for it) should've and could've picked much better songs than these 2......IMO anyway.....no offence anyone .....

I actually love RAL. I know it's cheesy and dated, but I just love it!
I really never listened to it until my grandfather died. I pulled it out and started to listen to all the songs. So it's kinda special.

What year did this album come out? It's soooo stereotypical 80s!! I'm attempting to listen to the whole album tonight while I clean to brush up on the material. I have to say...so far I"m pretty disappointed. It doesn't hold a candle to Belladonna and Wild Heart!! By the way- did you have a face off for Belladonna? I missed it! What won?

(maybe if it had stayed Mirror, Mirror it would've been 200% better....)
Mirror, Mirror is ghastly. Right from the start of the song and the electrified xylophone makes me want to destroy things, starting with mirrors.
However, the alternate version of The Nightmare (I Can't Wait 12" LP) is much better than what ended up on the album.

I love this album because it represents when I was in my Stevie heyday. Anyway, I think I voted for Imperial Hotel. That was a few minutes ago and I've already forgotten. :| It was going to be between that and Sister Honey. I Sing for the Things is beautiful, people. Don't piss me off here. ;)

That's exactly how I feel Janet. RAL represents a "certain time, certain place". I was in my teens on LI, the height of big hair 80's-ness. It was such a rockin, rollin time.

It was and I felt a pang when I saw that I Can't Wait has two votes! I cranked that song in my camaro like nobody's business and practiced my dance moves to it (the arm/hand thing Stevie did in the video-LOL)!

I'm a fan of Rock a Little, but I can understand the hate for it too. It's probably the biggest stylistic departure of Stevie's career, from a woman who's otherwise had a pretty consistent style from the get-go. To me this album feels really different than any of her others, and so it's understandable that some will just not take to it. It's very good at what it does. Whether or not you like what it does is just a matter of personal taste.
And for the record, I Can't Wait is awesome!

Those albums still have afew songs that dont
attatch themeselves to the decade they were made in. I played someone "Rose Garden"the other day, and they asked
if it was a new country song.
Rockalttle
has NEVER been my favorite album by ANY stretch of the imagination. Probabally because i cant attatch it to anny memory cause i was in like
preschool.
But!when your in a 80's synthisized mood, IT ROCKS!

Very true and the beginning of her waning in popularity. The Other Side of The Mirror actually charted higher on Billboard Album charts (not by much) than Rock-A-Little, but still performed less than her first 2 albums.
I Can't Wait gives me a headache and I can never listen to it again...and the lyrics are just dumb.
