I love Sable on Blonde... especially the powerful demo version (I wish my version wasn't only a partial....)

Personally, I keep voting for "If Anyone Falls."

This is a little off topic, but have any of you guys been voting in the Fleetwood Mac poll in the Rumours forum? I'm pretty sure it's a bunch of Lindsey fans over there. They keep trying to vote off Crystal, and I even noticed some votes for  Landslide and Rhiannon!

LOL.
These little polls seem to cause so much havoc, don't they?

Frankly, you all suck for voting off Gate & Garden first.
Do I love you....NO
Do I love you....NO
Do I (hold note) love you....NO

Damn it.

I am voting for IWRTY.....I cannot get into this song....plus it isn't no SDMHA.....I think Stevie only put this on the WH because TP wrote it for it....other songs should've been put on WH instead of this one...like ATBW....what an awesome song.....totally....what a missed hit.....IMO anyway....to each his or her own though........

I have always been into IWRTY!!

I love Stevie's harmony with Tom on this song!

I voted off Wild Heart... because it is too long and it is like all over the place...

I like it and everything... but not so much as the others...

I missed voting on round one...

I would have voted for WH then too!!

Anyone who voted off G&G is a fool!!

That is a beautiful track!!

BTW... if Stand Back doesn't win this poll...

I am going to drown myself in my toilet by flushing it over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

because...

I will not want to stay upon this tainted orb.

You've got to admit that if she didn't hold that note and a few others, the song would be completely worthless. It's her soaring vocals, "Do I love you? Well I always did. No-o-obody knows, nothing about it. Ohh- ohhhh."

I mean if all we had was that stuff about there being a gate that could be guarded, which is not heaven . . . sung in a voice that sounds like she's telling a children's story . . . ugh. Her wild heart voice is all that salvaged that loser.

True. But I love it, I love how it opens...
"there is a gate...it can be guarded,
well it is not heaven, and it has a garden.
So to the red rose...grows the passion..."

I just love it. So sweet.

I struggle with Sable On Blond a whole lot more. That whole "excalibur" thing in the verse bugs me to death.
But that chorus, oh my is it gorgeous.

So, often the chorus comes in and changes a song, turns the whole thing around., gives it an ephemeral quality that lifts it up, far beyond what may have been pedestrian and clumsy in the verses. It can convert a song from mundane to magical. That's true all the way up to the TISL album (the title track being an example).
