Go buy it... support the band.

That's about as to the point as it gets. We don't post commercially available material here. It's just not the right thing to do.

oops, sorry about that, yeah i might as well go out and buy the cd, nothing feels better to support a band that is worth millions of dollars :)

i think i am going to just start using seven wonders now, they are a lot nicer over there, And don't you think to really support the band, we shouldn't be trading there rare demos that have not been released, its like were stealing there art for free!

You obviously missed the point... but that's okay, you're young. Oh, and Seven Wonders has the same policy about posting officially released material...

oh no, i know we can't post officially released stuff on seven wonders, and why i asked on this site, is beyond me...but the bottom line, i think the trading of unreleased material is just as bad, as trading released material...we are stealing there are from them for free

Not really because it isn't hurting them financially to trade unreleased material.

but from an artists point of view its stealing. Some of those songs were written and recorded for many different reasons, not just so they could appear on an album. I saw once a video, where some guy asks stevie about her demos like forest of the black roses and Julia, and she gets really mad, and says they should have never been taken because they are hers. And if we take something that belongs to someone, than that is definately stealing

That maybe true, but the reason no one trades commercially available material is because it affects the musicians profits. If you think trading a demo is stealing, why on earth would you ask for a commercially available track? Wouldn't that be stealing AND hurting the bands bottom line?

Are you seriously offended that people you don't know won't give you a commerically available track for free?

And for the record, not everyone agrees with trading bootlegs and not everyone does it, however the band loses nothing when someone trades a bootleg but they do lose money when someone gives away a track from one of their CDs for free.

And yes the band is worth millions of dollars, which makes them more than able in targeting this site if the record company and management discovers that this board is posting commerically released tracks for free

But you're right the 7W folks are a lot nicer, they sensibly won't post commercially released tracks and this board won't either. I see the difference :)

Edit: how funny. It's on iTunes, you don't even need to buy the whole CD!

LOL, a real comedian this Blue Crystal is. This person has "most of the master reels", as you can see for yourself (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?p=761567#post761567), and even knows which ones he/she needs to complete their collection. So don't try to lecture anybody on the ethics of posting unreleased material.

And this is the second time you have threatened to never post here again. You must be under the impression that this idea fills us with sorrow.

SFTU??? what does that mean??? can't be stand the f**k back 'cause that would be STFB..

bluecrystal, each has their own opinions about trading, about stealing, about buying...

the Ledge's consensus is that trading demos, outtakes and boots is ok but not officially released material. As fans, Ledgies purchase all commercially released songs and/or albums they are interested in. and I think as true fans this is a good policy...

however, the Internet has offered me opportunities to hear and see things I would not normally have access to:

things I've gotten from the Ledge:

I finally heard Mirror Mirror, after almost 15 years of knowing this song existed I now have lots of demo/outtake versions and I purchased the released version on cassette ...

I finally saw Civil War Standback video...I heard about this video at a Beatle convention back in the late 80's...and now I have my own version on Crystal Visions

I learned that Prince worked with Stevie on Stand Back not Sister Honey but I'm still convinced that that song was Prince inspired...

I have a great live version of Alice from the OTOSM tour, one of the few tours I didn't attend any concerts...sorry Stevie, I was dead broke at that time...

I have now purchased all of Lindsey's solo albums even though I loved "Trouble" and had recorded it on tape from the radio as a teen...

my hubby went out and purchased all the FM early albums 'cause he's a blues fan. He had heard an older FM song one day on an indy radio station, came home and asked me about it. I was that's "oh well" and he was like "how can you be a fan without completing your collection!!"

I finally learned how to get good seats at a concert without paying a fortune!!! my Wild Heart seats were always in the nosebleed section...

there are probably a ton more things that the Internet has given me access too but I think it's been a fair exchange, I'm a better fan and I've turned all my nieces (10 in all) into little Stevie Nicks fans
