Also keep your eyes peeled on the website because they are posting videos of one song from each concert - and they just added bon jovi's so we'll probably see a Stevie video there next week...

I think most places across the country are going to be able to watch part 1 next week, with part 2 airing the following week. Check your local PBS station for details. www.pbs.org

What I'm more curious about is if we are going to be able to buy the dvd outside pbs? Amazon only lists the audio of the show available for purchase in September. I NEED TO KNOW.

Vanessa Carlton Set for Tour With Joshua Radin, Part 2 With Stevie Nicks

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
Jul 14, 2008

Multi-Grammy-nominee Vanessa Carlton says she plans to only be out on the road for a month with Joshua Radin on their tour that kicks off July 15 in Tucson, Ariz. "Then I'm going to Costa Rica for two weeks," says the singer/songwriter, who's been touring off and on since the release of her latest CD, "Heroes and Thieves," last fall.

"It will be my official kind of me starting to regenerate and write again, put my nose to the grindstone and plot out my next project, be it a film score or new album."

Meanwhile, Carlton joins the legendary Stevie Nicks in Part 2 of her "Soundstage" concert performance airing on PBS later this month (check local listings). Carlton and Nicks sing "The One," their duet from Carlton's album. The former Fleetwood Mac singer has become a personal mentor to Carlton, who says she envisions lots more collaborations between the two.

"I do hope to continue working with her in some capacity, even if it's just co-writing or exchanging ideas. We get the greatest joy out of plotting new art projects. Who knows what will be ignited?"

They likely are saving those to make you buy the DVD as opposed to taping the aired episode. They did that with Gypsy and other songs on The Dance.

Also, what is Lost Highway?

Here is what the site says:

The way that shows are taped are not always the way they appear in the broadcast. Take a look at the set list as it was originally performed at our studio and compare that to the order performed in the Soundstage episode.

I am sitting in a coffeehouse, so I'll holding back my tears; I'd be bawling if I was at home. That GDW is WONDERFUL. My mom would have LOVED this show. GDW was always one of her favorites and very much one she could relate to with her addictions, lousy husbands, etc. I feel her watching this with me and totally rocking out.

And Stevie just looks so gorgeous. I've been feed up with her for the setlists and stuff, but I am totally in love again. There is just no one like Stevie!

They had BETTER air this in Atlanta

I am just so totally overwhelmed right now. I love Stevie so much. I love my mom so much. They are so similar in so many ways....

I said this to someone before, but what's sad is we know what was all performed that night including two versions of Landslide one with an orchestra without the audience (according to the setlist), and like Lindsey's we won't get everything performed that night in film or audio - unless they do like The Dance and have more tracks on the audio portion then on the dvd...

I hope she and Lindsey stand on opposite ends of the stage and don't even come close to touching each other. I'm so over that that phony bullshit on stage. With Waddy and Stevie you can tell it's real. They love and respect each other in a much deeper way than Lindsey and Stevie ever could(at least now). Of course that's just my humble opinion. :D And no more talk about TUSKING, it's not prime time yet. :wavey:

I just love this version of Gold Dust Woman... harder hitting and darker than it has been in many years. I was just expecting another blah run of the mill performance, but this one almost blew my socks off  .

I just found out Soundstage will finally be on in Charlotte this Sunday. Seeing the video makes me wish I knew some local chiffonheadsto invite over to watch it together... I'm totally psyched about it now after seeing GDW!!!

I totally agree with you. This performance is much more "Stevie" if you know what I mean. More intense. A Soundstage party would be fun.
I am going to try to record the Saturday showing in our area. I like the fact that it is HD, but limits the audience because it is not available in all markets or cable stations, etc...
I am recording it right onto my computer because I have a TV card that is HD ready.

It should be hitting the MHD channel pretty quickly as they are already playing the REO episode that premiered on PBS a couple of weeks ago.

Just a little review about Soundstage (and the meanest song Stevie Nicks ever wrote):

http://blogs.pioneerlocal.com/entertainment/2008/07/stevie-nicks-matchbox-20-up-ne.html

So you're channel surfing, and all of the sudden you realize you're watching an hour's worth of Stevie Nicks singing favorites like "Landslide" and throwing in covers like a brilliant version of Dave Matthews' "Crash."

That's coming up at 9 p.m. CST July 17 as PBS station WTTW11 continues its Soundstage series, taped concerts by big-name acts, most filmed on the station's intimate concert stage in Chicago.

The series runs on Thursday nights and has already featured Josh Groban, REO Speedwagon and Bon Jovi. Part II of the Steve Nicks concert is July 24. Matchbox 20 airs July 31 and Kenny Chesney on Aug. 7. Repeats are shown at midnight on Saturdays.

The series was resurrected in 2001 and has featured a mixture of acts including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Trisha Yearwood, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Alanis Morissette, Joan Baez, Michael McDonald, John Mayer, The Wallflowers, Heart, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Frampton, Train, The All American Rejects, Dashboard Confessional, Macy Gray and Jewel.

Looking at the advance copy of the Stevie Nicks show, she sounds fantastic in her first taped solo concert since 1987. The concert offers some unique material including Nicks performing "Sara," a song she doesn't usually do solo since she considers it "a signature Fleetwood Mac song" and an her calling "Fall From Grace" the meanest song she's ever written.

Nicks also performs fan favorites like "Rhiannon" along with a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll." The crowd wasn't especially energetic, but that also means they're not interfering.

. . .

It's curious how "Sara" is a signature FM song. Stevie performed it on the 1983 "In Concert" show, along with "Rhiannon," "Dreams" (the only US #1 hit song) and "Gold Dust Woman." I'm getting vertigo. ;) Still, it's great to hear this latest effort is getting positive reviews.
