I have not cheated on my diet and I just wrapped up day 10! Believe me, I am tempted!! I am REALLY tempted! I’ve been to a birthday party for twin one-year-olds, a Passover seder, a birthday dinner for my mother, and a sip-and-see for Amy’s new baby girl and I never faltered. I am so proud of myself I could spit!

I went walking for 30 minutes tonight all by myself — just me and my iPod. And it was fantastic. I kept skipping over to all the songs that made me feel like strutting my stuff, and that’s exactly what I did. I WAS Stevie Nicks. I WAS Beyonce. I WAS Alanis Morissette. And I was FABULOUS! I visualized myself on a catwalk — on a stage — dancing down the aisle — running in slow motion on the beach. It was a complete out-of-body experience and I loved it. I hope for more of those.

Good job on not cheating!!!! I just wrapped up a 16 week nutrition/diet, and i didnt cheat once. not one cookie not one chip, no pizza, no icecream. and now im beach body ready!!!!! the first 3 weeks are the hardest, at least they were for me, after that it gets much easier. Also i made a whole bunch of FM and Stevie playlists for my iPod, so i was always looking forward to do my running, cause i knew i had awesome music to listen too. Keep up the great work!!!!!!

I don't make it to the gym nearly as much as I should or want to, but when I do I find that I love the treadmill. I was afraid to try it because all I ever heard was how people hate it. But I found something that makes it work for me. I start off with one of the dance mixes of Stand Back and suddenly I am Stevie on the infamous Stand Back treadmill, complete with neon lights and smoke machine. And I totally acknowledge how much of a freak I must appear since I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt and not a flowing chiffon gown and the fact that I'm an overweight 38 year old man and not the beautiful Miss Nicks herself. But ya know, I'm not at the gym to pick up men, and if there's one thing that would send them running it's me in the gym all sweaty and nasty. So the trick is to do what works for you, and if my little treadmill fantasy gets me back on the treadmill time and time again, so be it.

Actually, I remember one time after I got used to the elliptical machine I was going to town with some really good tunes, happily swaying my head back and fourth, mouthing the words to whatever I was listening to and tapping my fingers on the guide rail when I had this sudden realization that I must look like a complete lunatic. I looked around to see if anyone was staring at me and noticed the man on the machine next to me... who was doing the complete YMCA dance. I was like, "thank you Jesus" and just kept doing my thing. :)

She's not posting about her own diet ~ she posted part of a blog from a radio DJ here in Dallas that had a Stevie mention in it ~

I must admit that I have benefitted from the boost of adrenalin that I get from the rock mix of "I Can't Wait." Definitely helps my hindquarters to push 500lbs worth of plates on the leg press! But I must admit that a "Stand Back" spinning class (but on treadmills) sounds like a lot of fun. I just don't think it's good to do the "like a willow I can be-e-e-end" part while on the treadmill though. :p
