The Hi-Res are great. Here are two giant-sized (...Big Gulp Sized?) screen caps from the video of Sometimes it's a Bitch. I've been using Faststone Capture. It's great.

I just got the patch that lets my scanner work with Vista and now that I'm using it, I was wondering what dpi I should scan at to get a "high resolution" photo. I did 1200 dpi, but I think that's incorrect.

I was wondering what dpi I should scan at to get a "high resolution" photo. I did 1200 dpi, but I think that's incorrect.
Scanning at 300 dpi produces a good looking scan while maintaining a reasonable file size, and is great for web purposes.

I've read that you really never need to go any higher than 1440 -- and, even then, only if you're planning to print them and want the absolute best quality.

You definitely don't want to go any lower than 300, whatever you do.

Wow - I had run across this one before - but for some reason I thought twice about if it was really Stevie or not... does anyone know when/ where/ who / this picture came from?
